Chapter 34 - The Real Arthur Leo

Bart, the sadistic psychopath. He'd grown up to not care about anything. Many kids were like that, but he took joy in it a little too much. In reality, he was just looking for excuses to hurt people.

Bart, finding out that Arthur Leo owed him money, decided to kill him. So, he readied his tools. He planned for everything.

Arthur, grabbing a rusty knife, put it to the test.

He went to Christmas Town. As he saw all of the lights, green, red & white colors, and even the giant fake trees that surrounded the town.

Unlike the rest of the island, this one part of the island snowed. Despite that, the temperature never dipped below 60. This was because the snow was fake.

Krieg, a couple years back, decided to alter the island to his benefit. He used to live in another dimension, on a planet called Earth.

He decided to bring his favorite holidays from that planet, and add the aesthetic to his island. Halloween, Christmas & Thanksgiving.

Bart marvelled at the wonderous lights of christmas town, and saw all of the trees, having ornaments around them.

There were many ice machines lining the ground, making fake ice, crystaline & refractory.

There, at Christmas Town, Bart found one. A stray kitten.

They had been enjoying christmas town a lot since all of the locals were nice. Bart took one, and decided to bring it home with him.

Bart, after having arrived back to the base, went into his dorm room.

He picked up his techbook, deciding to record what he was going to do. He slowly picked up his rusty knife, waving it in front of the harmless animal.

"Don't worry, i'm not gonna hurt you.", he said, "I just want to test out my knife, to see the best way to... hurt... Arthur."

He had long since hidden his urges, but he had to kill again. He absolutely had to.

Bart, waving the knife, started to scalp the kitten's skin off of its body.

Bart's body shivered with happiness, and he couldn't stop cutting. The kitten...

It could only struggle and die.

8 HOURS EARLIER:

As Arthur Leo, the real Arthur Leo, woke up, he looked around his room.

He recalled the time he first got this room. It originally belonged to the daughter of General Krieg, the ruler of this military base, but she passed away years ago.

First thing in the morning, Sophie interrupted him.

"What do you want, Sophie?" He asked.

"Do you want to hang out with us later? We're heading to Halloween Town!"

Sophie was far too excited. Arthur just wanted to get the conversation over with.

"Yeah, sure, whatever."

Arthur pulled out his techbook, activating it using facial recognition software.

The techbooks worked like phones, but they had much higher security, as well as containing important information about the island.

One piece of information was the different towns on the island.

There were 4 separate major parts of the island. There was the military base, and surrounding it, there were 3 small towns, each named after a holiday. Halloween town was especially fun, because of the fun novelty of using candy as currency.

Kyle yawned out. "FINE. Just... chillax!"

He walked out, ready for the day. Little did he know, it would be his last day alive.

But... he knew. Arthur Leo knew.

In his dreams, he saw an orb. It told him... it was the soul of God!

It spoke to him.

For an entertaining game of cat & mouse, he gave Arthur the directions. To never return to his dorm room after leaving, and to change up his schedule as much as possible.

Arthur knew, he was 100% sure. He made sure not to change the room at all. He had to keep it in its original state to prevent 'whatever' it was that was going to kill him!

Additionally, he chose to speak to Krieg, but the soul told him. It told him that, if he did such a thing, and ruined the enjoyment of the 'game', it would kill him!

All Arthur knew was that the entity was much more powerful than him - He could die, instantly!

He kept tabs on his friends, guessing that the entity would stalk them, and he recieved it... confirmation!

He knew that the being that was chasing him had made contact, because... they told him about events that haven't happened!

Things he said, that he had no knowledge of.

He even spoke to his ex-girlfriend at lunch. He needed to know if everyone had been manipulated. However, she showed no visible changes.

However, Arthur didn't fear the entity at all! The thing he truly feared was him... Bart.

Bart was a psychopathic bully that enjoyed hurting people. Arthur feared Bart more than anything in the world.

God rang in his ears this day. "Forget Bart. Your real fear is the one hunting you. He absolutely will kill you. Entertain me. Fight back against absolute power!

God's soul had been playing chess! Why? Simple entertainment! Why else?

Being the soul of the true God was boring! Why not cause chaos whenever you must?

Because it was fun!

Unfortunately, Bart was also finding out about Arthur, as well as the entity referred to as FJ.

The orb, only speaking of FJ, what did it mean?

At first, Arthur assumed it was solely speaking of Bart, but in reality, FJ was entirely different.

Described as a viscious demon that only existed to further suffering at the highest level, only for its own benefit! For a goal it will simply never achieve!

Arthur simply stalked his friends, finding it out. FJ, the entity following him, it looked exactly like Arthur.

It looked like him, acted like him, had his friends, his life. But it wasn't him.

It was something else. Something...sinister.

Something, secretly grotesque, festering and bubbling, some creature with no empathy or love whatsoever - Gruesome, violent monster!

As IT inserted itself deeply into Arthur's friend group, Arthur could only feel more & more fear.

'That's me! That's my life!'

Yet, he could only shout those words out to the abyss, never to be heard again.

At that moment, as he was lamenting his grave fate, his whole life being stolen by a vile Chaotic Demon he only knew by the initials FJ, Bart finally found him!

Bart laughed, sickening and ugly. "Hey... thought you could escape me?"

Bart held Sophie by the hair, as she desperately struggled.

He held a half-full beer bottle above her head, smashing it down on her.

Her last words came out in the form of a small whimper. She'd been dragged all the way from Halloween-Town. She hung out with the entity about 3 hours earlier. It was midnight now.

Bart was just as scary to Arthur. He was horrifying.

Arthur was only a boy, forced into fearful situations. He just wanted a quiet, peaceful life - He didn't want to kill anyone!

When he was a young kid, sure, he made mistakes, but he had a family, parents, a family, people he loved. He wanted to grow up, and become an astronaut.

As space travel was completely defunct in this world, he wasn't able to.

Every nation would destroy each other the moment space travel progress was made. Because once a country or nation was able to utilize space travel, that nation would instantly become the strongest, causing a great power imbalance.

But Arthur wanted to change that! He had big dreams! Dreams that Terra Firma couldn't stop!

As a kid, both his parents were slaughtered.

He lived in a War-Torn Nation, far away from civilization. But a boy, aged 12, changed that entirely. The boy, only known as the Adrenaline Junkie, saved the nation from war, and caused it to prosper, becoming one of the most flourishing nations in the world. He wanted to be like his hero, the Adrenaline Junkie!

He wanted to be just like him, to change the world, remembering the exact words he shouted, wanting the Adrenaline Junkie to defeat the evil ruler & save the world!

Now, much older, Arthur's dreams of changing the world had only grown that much stronger.

But right in front of him, Bart was standing in the way of that freedom.

"Sophie!" He shouted in anguish. Bart smiled.

"Don't bother, Arthur. She's out like a light. She'll wake up, but you won't."

He pulled out a rusty pocket knife, flipping it open.

Bart grabbed Arthur, throwing him into a shelf. Arthur felt his bones crack!

Bart, smiling with his normally sadistic grin, smiled. "Shoulda given me my fucking money."

He didn't want to kill Arthur, yet. He wished to see him suffer.

As this happened, Arthur's eyes grew wide, he vomited up green bile. Being choked to death was not fun.

As blood poured out of Arthur's nose & mouth, Bart continued to cackle.

Arthur, desperate, tried to grab Bart's face, but was only met with harsher resistance.

Arthur couldn't do anything else. He had exhausted all his options - He was going to die!

In that very instance, a small glint appeared in his room, appearing from nothing.

The glint grew larger & larger, until there was nothing left, and at the end of it, he appeared. The entity!

Bart looked to the entity in fear & shock! "What the fuck was that!?"

He stumbled over his own feet, barely aware.

"Shhh. Don't talk." The entity said, with a much deeper, sinister tone.

As Bart tried to give a snarky reply, the entity, warping space and appearing right in front of him, laughed in a despair-inducing tone. "How does it feel when it's you? Fun, right. We are kinda similar."

As Bart's tear ducts went into overdrive, blood seeped out of his mouth, and the entity shoved Bart's own techbook into his mouth, the piece of technology getting soaked in red, slushing blood, with bobbing saliva pushing through the techbook.

At once, the Techbook exploded into a giant spark, setting Bart's body on fire!

A smoke alarm went off, but nobody heard!

"The rooms are soundproof." The sinister, vile entity noted this horrific fact.

"What a design flaw."

As Arthur saw Bart's mummified body, wrecked apart from the inside, he cried!

Tears flowed down, as he realized the simply fact. This entity represented the simple fact. It was the end!

Kyle, suffering through tears & anguish, barely managed to squeak a small question, only for it to fall on deaf ears.

"W-why... me?"

The entity spoke, giving that same deeply disturbing laugh.

"Why? Oh, you don't mean why you, specifically. Why do I kill people, is more like it..."

Arthur couldn't understand what the entity was saying. It was more like it was muttering to itself.

The entity walked forward, showing his sharp teeth. It was an exact replica of Arthur. And yet, distinctly different. It was...

Terribly dangerous.

The entity expressed deep happiness, nearly choking on happy tears. "I'm just so grateful..."

"So grateful to be able to... hurt... people. Thank you so much for letting me contribute to the suffering of humanity. Because... because... they don't deserve to live!" He said it with a smile, deeply scary, and yet, somehow comforting.

"If I can't be happy! If I can't achieve my goals, than... I am so glad that I get to hurt people, to... aid in the pursuit of horror."

It nearly doubled down in tears. "It just makes me so happy..."

And finally, Arthur...

Screaming & crying...

He was beat to death.
