Chapter 26 - The Boy Named Magami Kenta

Previous chapter,

With a final, explosive knee to the chest, hiza geri, he drove Ryuujo fully to the ground. Ha-Joon then raised his heel high and stomped down with finality, breaking the elder's ribs with a sickening crunch.

Magami Ryuujo gasped once and stilled.

His heart stopped.

The oyabun of the Magami was dead

....

Ha-Joon exhaled, breath steaming in a cool air, as he watched the collapsed body of Ryuujo.

"Haa... Just when, I thought it was getting interesting. He juat couldn't hold his ground."

"Still... your Kyoukushin was commendable, at the very least."

He gaze shifted slowly towards the Magami elders who had cowered during the fight, hesitant to take action due to fear.

Ha-Joon narrowed his eyes, as he spoke. "Now then... what should I do with you?"

As soon as he spoke, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the blood-soaked courtyard.

A small figure appeared from behind the main gate, barely reaching Ha-Joon's waist in height.

A boy, no older than ten arrived at the scene.

His face was covered with tears, his tiny hands trembling as he ran past the broken bodies and collapsed beside the dead body of Ryuujo.

"Father...!" the boy choked out, shaking the unmoving body. "Father, please wake up! Please!"

The courtyard, moments ago filled with the tesion of battle, fell into a heavy silence, except for the child's sobs.

Ha-Joon stood still, as he watched the scene unfolding infront of him.

Ahh... another boy being parentless due to the conflicts of adult.

He may have felt pity for the boy, but he didn't regret his choice of destroying the Magami. Had he not destroyed them, he would be the one, on the spot of Ryuujo someday.

Though, he felt like he had seen the boy somewhere but exactly couldn't pinpoint where.

It was understandable, as Kenta hadn't made his impact on the 'Lookism' and had made a few appearance.

Because of this, Ha-Joon had completely forgotten about the boy named Magami Kenta.

The cries raged on completely filling the silent room with his wails, as his father lay motionless on the ground.

On the side, the Magami elders looked on, frozen, shame etched into their face.

The boy, Magami Kenta, clutched his father's motionless body tightly, his cries filled with grief and pain.

Ha-Joon finally couldn't holdback anymore, he stepped forward.

As he moved, the boy didn't notice him until he was just a few feet away.

Without a word, Ha-Joon picked up a nearby sword that had fallen during the earlier chaos. He walked over and placed the cold steel before the sobbing boy.

Kenta blinked up at him through tears.

"Pick it up," Ha-Joon said, his tone filled with calmness.

The boy's hands quivered. His eyes darted from the blade to Ha-Joon's towering frame. His body trembled from the sheer pressure emanating from Ha-Joon's body.

"Strike me, boy" Ha-Joon said. "Take your revenge."

Kenta looked at the sword, then at Ha-Joon. He reached out, grasped the hilt with his small hands, and tried to lift it, but the weapon was too heavy. The boy's knees buckled. The blade clattered uselessly against the floor.

Ha-Joon didn't flinch.

Instead, he knelt before the boy, his reverse eye glowed faintly while staring at the boy's eye. Kenta was scared shitless, staring at the mans's eye.

His body refused to move from his position due to extreme fear.

"You can't now," Ha-Joon said, voice low. "But one day, you might."

Kenta stared at him, silent tears pouring down his face.

"Hate me," Ha-Joon said coldly. "Let this moment cause for your strength. Let it haunt your dreams. And if you truly want revenge, grow stronger."

(A/N: Man, I truly got that Itachi vibe for a moment from Ha-Joon.) 🥶

Hearing his voice, Kenta was filled with anger, he clenched his fist and vowed to take revenge for his father.

Ha-Joon slowly rose to his full height, his frame swallowing the boy beneath him.

"When you're ready, come find me. Challenge me. But if you come as weak as your father did…" His eyes flashed coldness. "I won't show mercy a second time."

Without another word, Ha-Joon turned his back on the boy and walked away, leaving behind the crushed remnants of the Magami clan.

.....

[Scene Cut — Hangure Clan Estate]

Midnight,

Inside the private estate of the Hangure clan's Oyabun, commonly known as the "President" among his men, Ha-Joon lay in a dimly lit tatami room, bandaged and resting.

The echoes of footsteps from outside the estate reached his ears.

He slowly opened his eyes.

He slowly sat upright on the futon, his upper body wrapped in bandages, the lower half covered by a plain yukata.

His followers stepped in, all the man around their 20s. Amongs them, the man named, Yusuke, Ha-Joon representative stood in front.

"President, We've found the other clans," he said with a respectful tone.

Ha-Joon nodded and gestured him to continue.

'Due to your fight against Magami. Smaller vassals have gathered around the three other vassal family. It seems they are fully prepared to go an all out war."

Ha-Joon nodded, stood and walked towards the veranda, watching the estate garden with a clam mind.

"Hmm... Make sure to wipe them out." He muttered.

Yusuke stepped closer. "Pardon me?"

"I will not go against them." Ha-Joon said." The Magami clan, one of the strongest of the vassal turned out to be weak. I doubt, they'll have anyone strong amongs them."

"Even if they have gathered amongs the three vassal, They won't be much of a threat. So dismantle them all. Take the Hangure and Yamazaki man to make up for their numbers."

He nodded, before speaking. "Rest assured, President. I will complete it within this week."

"I'm counting on you," Ha-Joon said without turning.

Yusuke bowed and left Ha-Joon alone to rest.

Ha-Joon stood, silent for a moment before reaching out for a cigarette on the nearby lacquered table, lit it, and took a long drag.

"I'll stay here for today. During this time, maybe visit Somi. She must be fully recovered in a few days, and can start her part of work in here."

"And I can resume my unfinished business in South korea."
