Chapter 51 - Finding "you": Chapter 51: Things only got worse...

Wayne stepped over and squatted by Violet's side. His gaze met with Violet for permission to pat Pei Li's back as Violet nodded, noting Pei Li was beginning to calm down a little.

"Wayne's here…" Violet prompted Pei Li. She lifted her head a little to meet Wayne's gaze.

"Hey… Are you alright, Little Cloud? It's me…" Wayne tried to coax her as Pei Li nodded a little.

Wayne reached out to touch her face as she flinched a little into Violet's arms. "It's fine… You're alright, and no one can harm you… You wouldn't be harmed like that again." Wayne assured Pei Li.

"Yes, remember what I told you earlier? My brother would ensure we are all well protected." Violet reminded her. Pei Li forced herself to keep calm as she nodded before letting Wayne hug her.

"I'm so sorry, Little Cloud…" Wayne apologised as Pei Li tightened her arms around him.

"Alright, we will let you both talk. We will be next door." Violet said she quickly led Sebastian and Sam over to the next room.

As the door closed behind the trio, Violet was reminded of the afternoon conspiracy and instantly headed for the main door. Sam blocked her just in time.

"Where are you heading to?" Sam insisted on knowing when Violet saw the scratch marks on his arms.

"Fix that." She pointed with the intention to distract him from his question.

"Yes, but where are you heading to?" Sam insisted again as Sebastian sighed, but didn't dare to intervene for fear he would agitate Violet more.

"Not your business to care after work hours." She rebelled as she forced her way through the door, with Sam attempting to block. "I'm your brother…" Sam reminded.

Instead of arguing, she purposely put pressure on his injured arm before he let go, and she escaped.

"Fix that. I will ensure she's alright." Sebastian said while putting on a cap and a mask, he took from the dressing table where Sam had always ensured there would be a set prepared for him.

He then went after Violet, who sprinted away. When she was downstairs, she honestly didn't know where she wanted to head. All she knew was not wanting to be in the same room as Sam and Sebastian, whom she was still mad with.

Stop thinking bout them… doing no good for you. Violet scolded herself before sneezing.

Great… must be because of last night. She nagged herself for catching a cold sleeping in front of the lift lobby in between both houses till this morning. As she pulled her trenchcoat closer, she could feel a fever was brewing but chose to ignore it.

They better not know what I did… else my ears would be ringing. She sighed looking up at the shimmering skies litted by stars. It was so breathtaking that she wanted to snap them into a picture but realised her phone's camera couldn't do much justice.

Her thoughts wandered back to Pei Li's matter as she began to worry for her. She could tell how serious her trauma was and being able to still stay calm helping Wayne in this state, simply proves Wayne mattered a lot to her and also Penny.

She smiled recalling how well Pei Li could read body languages. She thought she had kept her relationship with Sebastian discreet and if Pei Li could read, she wondered if Sam did too or worse, everyone else might have too.

"What are you doing here?" A familiar voice startled Violet to turn around.

Speak of the devil… Violet thought to herself at the sight of Sebastian's assistant, Fang Li.

Sebastian, who was hiding behind a tree branch while discreetly trailing Violet, had noticed his assistant awhile ago. He quickly texted Sam, who was adding some antiseptic cream to his arm scratches, about the situation.

"What are you doing here?" Violet asked in return.

"Looking for Sebastian of course." Fang Li said.

"Why would he be here?" Violet first asked, but later realised her next question to Fang Li.

"How did you know I was here?" Violet took the chance to test her. Seeing Fang Li was a little taken aback, and she pressed on further.

"Were you following me?! Do I not have any privacy?" Violet scolded and could tell Fang Li had begun to panic.

"There are people to ask around! They all told me they saw Sam drove Sebastian and Wayne away right after the filming to here. I saw Sam's car so why wouldn't I be here?" Fang Li tried to disguise her panicked state, but her angered self gave her away. Violet wondered how much was true.

"Well, I have no idea what you're talking about. You can head back now." Violet tried covering up the truth.

"And you? Why are you staying here when your artist is missing?" Fang Li said with a hint of suspicion as Violet sighed inwardly at the nuisance.

"Who said I'm staying? I'm going too. Let's go together to the hotel the agency had arranged. Have you even checked there?" Violet questioned which took her by surprised to be caught for trailing without proper back up.

"Fine." Fang Li had no choice.

"Where is the driver?" Violet questioned, which further agitated Fang Li, who was covering up a lie.

"Do you think the agency would pay for after-hours? Take the taxi!" Fang Li bellowed as Violet squinted her eyes with a devious plan in mind.

Sebastian upon watching them both leaving the premise got worried and quickly hailed a taxi to follow them. He could tell something was amiss as he received Sam reply that he was catching up but it was too late.

Sebastian updated Sam that the girls were headed to the hotel the agency had arranged instead, which was closer to the filming site earlier today. Sam told Sebastian to appear in the room before they could make it.

Problem was Sebastian realised he had no key card to the room. After many years of acting, he felt familiar with such scenes that an idea came to mind.

When they both alighted, he quickly paid via a corporate card Sam had prepared for him from their new company. Moments like this he was very grateful towards Sam.

As he trailed the girls, he could often hear how Fang Li was always agitated with Violet. He suspected Violet did it on purpose to spite her and got a little worried for Violet in case she went overboard.

"What do you mean you don't know. Are you his assigned assistant? Shouldn't you know what he doesn't eat and what he always eats?" Violet pushed a little off the limit.

"The agency is the one who decides. They have strict regimes. Don't you know? What do you even know? Personal assistant?" Fang Li scoffed.

"You have no idea how to even work in this industry!" She bellowed.

"Well, if I don't know, you are worse off for losing your artist…" Violet said it calmly on purpose which added more fuel to Fang Li's anger.

"If it weren't because you went off as you like why would we lose him?! You're in charge of his meals. Why are you taking over his clothing and props? Where was Wayne's assistant even that an outsider had to handle both their meals?" Fang Li argued even more while they alighted from the lift.

"What were you doing? I was so nice to do all your tasks…" Violet folded her arms while waiting for her to find the key card. Violet's calm demeanour was indeed spiking Fang Li's temper even more that she had trouble rummaging for the keys in her bag.

"Slacking, I see… even the room card can't be found… maybe I should let you do everything tomorrow…" Fang Li wanted to retaliate after opening the room door but checking the room was more important as she barged into it.

"Sebastian! Are you in here?!" Fang Li frantically searched every corner while Violet took a sit on the couch, feeling weak from her brewing fever she tried to ignore.

Sebastian knew trouble was coming if he didn't turn up any moment and he was impressed with Violet for staying so calm all this while.

"Where is he? He isn't even here! How could you be resting at moments like this?" Fang Li scolded Violet who was still nonchalantly stretching herself.

"Let him be. Maybe he needed a little privacy." Violet shrugged.

"You knew where he is don't you?!" Fang Li wanted to start a fight.

"What's so urgent for you to need to meet him? He is an adult…" Violet retaliated.

"The agency wants him to sign on this schedule immediately or risk being terminated with a fine." Fang Li bellowed as Violet walked over and screen through the documents.

"Why the sudden change in schedule? It's worse now! No he isn't signing this. I won't approve…" Violet rolled her eyes.

"And who are you to not approve? Are you going to pay his compensation for breaching the contract." Fang Li said sarcastically and before Violet could say anything in return, they both were startled by an angered voice.

"What's all this chaos about?! What are you both doing in my room?!" Sebastian knew he had to interrupt as he put on an act.

"There you are! Here." Fang Li went up to him as he took a look at new photoshoots for summer wear were added on, he knew it was their way of squeezing him to the maximum before he leaves the agency since he had refused to sign the renewal of contract.

He sighed and took a pen from her to sign off while Violet forced herself not to retaliate. She was in fact too tired and weak to fight anymore as she recalled the morning conspiracy which she had not got over yet.

"Tomorrow you're in charge of all matters. Violet has other matters to attend to." Sebastian told Fang Li as she nodded.

"Leave the card. I lost mine." Sebastian told Fang Li as she passed to him before she left the room.

"You, leave too," Sebastian instructed Violet, knowing Fang Li could still hear them.

Violet gave no facial reaction as she stormed out to the park. She didn't bother where Fang Li was or what she was doing cause she was getting exhausted and weak. She knew there was no room in this hotel for her and she didn't want to see Sam in the other hotel.

Too tired to think of anything else, she began to doze off at the bench, slowly giving into her weak state.
