Chapter 38 - The suspicious Three

The door shook hard under the consistent hits.
Everyone gulped hard. Liam, Mark, and Riley stood up suddenly as they firmed their grips over the metal scraps they had been holding.
"What's that?" Elise said, her voice low.
"Are they—" But Jason's statement was stopped midway when the door was hit again.
Low mumbles of voices could be heard.
"I'll check," Riley said as she walked towards the door hesitantly.
"Please open the door." Riley could now hear the voice a bit clearer.
"People," Riley said with a little shock.
Everyone was the same. Till yet, they had hardly encountered any human after the apocalypse took place.
But it's dangerous. People doesn't mean kindness in a forsaken world, and Riley knew this very well.
She had saved Ilsa's group, and she knew how much trouble she had made for others.
"Should I open it?" she asked.
Mark and Liam nodded. Others didn't speak.
