"What's going on?" she asked, her eyes darting between the two men holding the girl and the onlookers who remained silent.
But the men didn't answer. One of them shot her a glare. The other simply tightened his grip on the girl's arm and kept walking, his silence louder than any threat.
Abigail's brow furrowed, How could they behave like this? She took another step forward, her hands slightly raised, as she pointed at the girl. "She's a child. At least explain what she did…"
"She's not your concern," one of the men snapped.
Before things could escalate, Adam appeared. His steps were steady, and he looked too calm considering what was happening, but his presence immediately shifted the mood. He raised one hand casually.
"That's enough," he said, his voice firm but cold. "They're just guests. Don't expect them to understand our way of doing things."
The words were directed at the guards, but the message was for everyone.
