After finishing their meal, Kino waved his hand. A surge of chaotic magic was released, and the leftovers on the plates instantly vanished. The dishes became spotless and then floated away toward the kitchen.
The magical display deeply captivated Wanda, her wide eyes filled with curiosity and wonder.
Kino spoke up at that moment.
"How was that? Pretty cool, right?"
"So cool..." Wanda replied instinctively.
"Wanna learn?"
"Yes..."
"Take this Dark Grimoire. Teach yourself."
"Huh?"
Wanda held the black-colored book, confused. The name Dark Grimoire didn't sound like something good.
"Confused? Just think of it this way— I made a deal with someone. He taught me his magical knowledge, and I'm passing it on to you.
But I don't really have time to teach you directly. You'll have to learn on your own for now. If anything's unclear, come ask me. Oh, and I need to give you permission."
Kino took out Chthon's mark and stamped it onto Wanda's hand. As soon as he did, the mark activated a magical formation.
Colorful orbs of light burst out, and Chthon's voice echoed from within the array.
"Demon King, these are the origin powers of other demon gods. Consider it... tuition fees, according to human terms."
Kino looked at the still-glowing mark, then at the swirling power.
"Tuition? These are some seriously wild energies."
Venom gently picked up one of the red-colored light orbs.
"Darling, now you really can't slack off."
Pamela smiled softly, a flicker of anticipation and amusement in her eyes.
They had just been chatting in the bath about Wanda's past. Because of that, Pamela had grown even fonder of the strong girl and hoped Kino would take her seriously.
"..."
Kino looked speechlessly at the mark on his hand—he never expected it to have such a function.
"I've changed my mind. From now on, you'll call me 'Master.'"
Kino told Wanda.
Wanda blinked, her eyes full of confusion—she still hadn't figured out what was going on.
Pietro, however, reacted quickly. He gently nudged Wanda. In his view, as long as she accepted this guy as her teacher, their lives would be secure from now on.
"Master..." Wanda said softly.
"Good disciple," Kino nodded in satisfaction. With a wave of his hand, he gathered up all the origin powers for later study.
"As my first disciple, I don't really have much to give... How about this—you tell me one wish, and I'll make it come true."
Kino said generously.
"Isn't this the part where the disciple gives the master a gift?" Venom whispered from the side.
"Oh really? Whatever. A Demon King taking a disciple should be the one giving gifts," Kino said carelessly.
Wanda looked helplessly toward Pamela for help. Her mind was a mess—this was too rare of an opportunity, and she didn't want to say the wrong thing or wish for something unrealistic.
Pamela smiled gently, stroked Wanda's hair, and said softly:
"Take your time. Darling is very powerful. There's hardly anything he can't do—including resurrection."
Resurrection?!
Wanda stared at Kino in shock.
"Master, I want to bring my parents back to life."
Her eyes shimmered with hope.
"Alright, this time I'll just bring everyone back."
Kino nodded and vanished in an instant.
Three seconds later, he reappeared.
"Ah! What's going on?"
"Where are we?"
"Bucky?!"
Several middle-aged couples appeared in the hall.
They were Wanda and Pietro's parents, Jean's mother, and Tony Stark's parents.
Everyone looked alarmed, their eyes filled with confusion—where were they?
"Mom! Dad!"
Wanda ran forward, tears streaming down her face.
She never imagined this would really happen.
Pietro followed quickly behind her.
Wanda's parents looked puzzled, but as they gazed at the familiar faces of Wanda and Pietro—
"Wanda, you've grown up so much."
"Pietro, what's with your hair? Acting all rebellious!"
Clearly, the parents focused on different things.
Jean's mother was being briefed on the situation by Pamela, who also called Jean to come back quickly.
The Starks were beginning to calm down.
"Hello, you two. You can call me Kino. I'm a friend of Tony Stark's. Welcome to the world, 20 years into the future."
Kino introduced himself.
"20 years later? Mr. Kino, I appreciate you saving us, but time travel is impossible. You probably just have a mutant ability that simulates it.
And Tony—he never mentioned having an Eastern friend."
Howard Stark was clearly skeptical. He was familiar with mutants, after all.
It was just too convenient—being saved just moments before their deaths and then told they had been brought 20 years into the future. Who could believe that?
"Tell me, what is it you—or your group—wants? You saved us both. No matter your purpose, I'll try my best to repay the favor."
"Howard, this young man saved us and even healed our injuries. Don't be so cold," Maria said gently.
Even though she didn't fully believe the story either, the fact that he'd saved them earned her trust. Plus, he claimed to be Tony's friend, which made her more inclined to believe him.
Kino found it all amusing. Despite Howard's refined demeanor, his pride was evident—just like Tony in that cave, though Howard was more restrained.
Kino pulled out a sleek laptop and handed it over.
"If you don't believe me, check for yourself."
Howard took the laptop and furrowed his brows. It was more advanced than any military model—lighter and sleeker.
He sat at a nearby table, intending to contact S.H.I.E.L.D., but then noticed the date in the corner.
2012.
Howard's pupils shrank. Instead of opening his email, he urgently searched for recent news.
"The Greatest Invention in History: The Artificial Sun. Humanity's Energy Crisis is Officially Over."
Attached was a photo. One familiar face stood out—
Tony Stark. But compared to the version from a few hours ago, this Tony looked more mature.
"Oh my god, my Tony..." Maria covered her mouth, heartbroken. Her son had lived alone for twenty years without them—how did he make it?
Howard took a deep breath and continued reading, trying to rationalize everything.
The artificial sun? Something that might not even be possible in a few hundred years? It had to be fake news.
But if it wasn't...
He read about the Demon Corporation's drug research, Stark Industries' transformation, Iron Man's appearance, Obadiah's crimes, Tony's disappearance...
By the time he got there, Howard slammed his fist on the table in frustration, the impact causing his hand to redden instantly.
Now he had no choice but to believe it.
