Chapter 201 - Chapter 199 – The Minions

Chino approached Wanda and pulled out the Mark of Sisoen, which flickered with a faint glow.

"Do you want to come with me?"

Pietro, supported by Wanda, also stood up.

Wanda paused slightly, her slender finger pointing at herself as she asked softly,"Do we even have a choice?"

"No, I was just asking symbolically."

Wanda was speechless. Then why bother asking?

"We—"

Pietro opened his mouth, but a filthy hand suddenly blocked Chino's path as several others surrounded them.

"Wait, Demon King sir..."

Chino's eyes dimmed. This subtle change went unnoticed by the people behind him, but Wanda and Pietro, who were facing him directly, saw it clearly.

A chill shot down their spines, as if an invisible frost crawled up their backs.

Instinctively, they took a step back. A creeping, indescribable fear quietly began to take root in their hearts.

"Demon King sir, they still owe me a few million. Since you're so generous, why don't you pay it for them?"

Kasi stared at Chino with greed, as if trying to strip the money right off him with his eyes.

The surrounding goons burst into laughter. In their minds, Chino was nothing but a soft-hearted pushover who wouldn't dare retaliate.

"How much do you want?" Chino turned around. His gaze was icy cold.

"Demon King sir is so generous. One gold brick each will do. Or else… I'll upload the footage online."

Kasi shouted in a sharp, grating voice, tossing his phone to a nearby thug.

The other goons also began filming, their faces full of smugness and greed.

A smile crept onto Kasi's face. A rich life awaited him—fine wine, beautiful women, power.

A red light flashed.

Kasi and his cronies suddenly collapsed, kicking up clouds of dust.

"You dare hit us? I want money! I want your potions too!" Kasi shouted, trying to get up and continue demanding things.

Once. Twice...

Why couldn't he get up?

He looked down—his legs lay sprawled on the ground like logs, completely numb. Blood gushed out from the wounds, dyeing the ground red.

"Aaaahhh!!!"

"My legs! My legs!"

The delayed pain suddenly flooded his mind like a raging tide. Screams of agony echoed through the area.

Some thrashed around on the ground, others clutched their severed legs, desperately trying to reattach them.

Crimson blood spread freely, creating a horrifying, gore-filled scene.

Wanda's knees buckled, nearly making her fall.

Pietro's face was filled with fear. He held Wanda tightly, staggering as he tried to flee this hellish place.

They had only taken a few steps when a single glance from Chino froze them in place, their bodies stiff, unable to move a muscle.

The people writhing on the ground were still screaming in agony. Blood flowed from their wounds, forming ghastly pools beneath them. It looked like they were going to bleed out entirely.

Their faces were pale as paper, their voices growing weaker by the second.

"Here are the potions you wanted."

Chino tossed a few syringes at them. As they pierced their bodies, the wounds on their severed legs began to heal at a visible pace.

Before they could even process what was happening—

"And here is the gold you asked for."

Each man suddenly found a heavy gold brick in their arms.

Kasi stared at the gold dumbfounded for a few seconds. Then, as if it were a scorching hot iron, he flung it away and crawled to Chino's feet.

His eyes were wide in terror and desperation, his voice trembling uncontrollably.

"I don't want the gold anymore—I want my legs! Please! I want my legs back! I was wrong! I was greedy! I never should have provoked you! I'm scum! Please! Give me my legs back!"

As he begged, he started slapping his own face, each strike turning his cheeks bright red.

"We were wrong! We won't do it again!"

"Give us the limb regeneration potion! We want the limb regeneration potion!"

The other thugs followed his lead, sobbing bitterly as they pleaded.

They couldn't imagine life without legs. In a place like this, money was worthless without power—they'd be eaten alive.

Chino used his bio-field to keep them at bay and looked back at Wanda and Pietro.

"What were you two saying earlier? Let's continue."

Behind Chino, the injured gang members clawed at the bio-field barrier, their eyes filled with agony, despair, and regret. They looked like demons from the depths of hell.

(Note: Demons and devils are different species.)

Pietro and Wanda were pale with anxiety, their bodies slightly trembling. They quickly nodded.

"I—we agree."

Pietro stammered.

"We won't run. Please don't cut off our legs," Wanda added, her voice trembling with a hint of tears.

Chino let out a helpless sigh. His image was completely ruined. He had originally planned to rescue them heroically and then win them over with kindness. Now it just looked like coercion.

[Venom]: Who cares! As long as you're happy. Or… are you thinking of putting that little minion in your harem?

Wanda's face, already smeared with black engine oil, was now further covered in dirt from Chino's earlier dust blast. Her entire face was a mess.

Feeling Chino's gaze, Wanda began to panic slightly. Bits of dust fell from her face.

Why is he staring at me? I didn't try to run… Or—did he notice I peed myself a little? But it was just a few drops!

No… this little minion is too filthy. Gross.

Thanks to Venom's interruption, Chino's mood improved, though he still felt a bit irritated.

After a moment's thought, Chino pulled out his phone and made a call.

"Boss, Alexander sends his regards."

"Are there any Hydra agents in Sokovia?"

"There are. But they're with the radicals. I'm still working on persuading them."

"Good enough. Tell them to break the legs of every gang member in Sokovia. Otherwise, I'll personally come and break theirs."

"Understood, boss."

Pierce dialed Baron Zemo.

"Pierce, how's it going? Has the Demon King finally come to recruit me?"

Baron Zemo's voice held a trace of anticipation. He knew full well that the Demon King had personally invited Pierce into the Demon Group. As one of Hydra's leaders himself, he secretly hoped for the same invitation—so he'd have more say in the group and wouldn't always be overshadowed by Pierce.

"Nope. But the boss gave an order—to break the legs of all gang members in Sokovia."

Pierce replied calmly, a faint smile on his face.

"Why are you telling me that?! You're right there. Handle it yourself."

Zemo snapped, already annoyed and ready to hang up. Such a minor thing and they bothered him?

"But I told the boss I was still persuading you to join the Demon Group.

So, the boss said—if you don't break their legs, he'll personally come and break yours."

Pierce's tone remained gentle, as if he were asking, "Have you eaten yet?"

Then he moved the phone slightly away from his ear.

Quote of the Chapter:

"Sometimes, mercy is the luxury of the powerful—until the weak mistake it for weakness."
