Peggy furrowed her brows slightly, falling into deep thought.
The Demon King was never someone who enjoyed war, yet now he seemed intent on facilitating one. There had to be a deeper reason behind this.
And the fact that Nick Fury had come to them without informing the other side—could it be that Nick Fury himself was the cause of this war?
She couldn't help but recall the artificial sun incident that erupted in New York. In the end, nothing bad happened. In fact, it had benefited the world—and that was also orchestrated by the Demon King.
"Boss, I want to ask... will this war benefit all of humanity?"
Peggy hesitated for a moment before finally speaking up.
"...Who knows?"
Kino answered without even turning his head. He casually tossed a black satchel over his shoulder and walked away.
"This burger's pretty good. I'm buying it!"
Peggy's lips curled into a subtle smile. It seemed she no longer needed to worry too much.
Steve reached out to unfasten the clasp on the satchel and looked inside.
A familiar metallic gleam sparkled in the sunlight—it was his shield, both familiar and dear to him.
He couldn't help but reach out, gently caressing the cold surface of the shield with a sense of nostalgia.
A great battle was approaching.
However, before he could fully sink into the wave of memories, Peggy suddenly snatched the satchel from him and tossed it to Bucky behind them.
"Your job today isn't to sit here and mope."
"But the war is coming..."
Peggy ignored his protest, firmly grabbing Steve's arm and pulling him toward the burger shop.
"What are you afraid of? We have the Demon King. You're just a soldier. Your duty is to follow orders.
And right now, I'm ordering you to go on a date with me."
"Yes, Commander Peggy!"
Steve took a deep breath. That's right—the Boss was here. He just had to obey orders.
Bucky followed behind, holding the satchel. Subconsciously, he clenched his steel fist, a flicker of excitement flashing in his eyes. War... now that was something to look forward to!
"Why are you spacing out? Try this—this is New York's number one burger."
Peggy's voice snapped Bucky out of his thoughts as she forcefully stuffed a steaming burger into his mouth.
Even though she found this old-timer a bit of a third wheel, she still had to be considerate—after all, that would make Steve even more guilty and willing to compensate her more.
After dining with Jean Grey and Galactus and casually buying an entire street, Kino returned to the estate and pulled out the Mark of Chthon.
He began studying magic and knowledge seriously.
He never imagined that someone as bad at school as himself would one day enjoy learning.
Chthon's magic came in many forms, but it could generally be divided into four categories:
Darkhold Magic: This was the full compilation of spells Chthon used while he was still on Earth. However, casting these spells required sacrificing one's soul.
Possession Magic: Similar to Shazam's powers, except the user could control the possessed target.
Creation Magic: With this magic, one could create actual mythological beings. This alone was enough for Kino to conquer the world.
Chaos Magic: The ability to manipulate reality itself.
"I really hit the jackpot this time," Kino muttered.
With this, he could begin his journey at a planetary level (like Thor). After studying diligently for a decade or two, he could reach Skyfather level (like Odin), and with excellent talent, even reach single-universe level (like the Celestials).
(Galactus had once mocked the Celestials' creations.)
Kino felt a bit guilty—Chthon was just too generous, and yet he'd still beaten him up.
But that guilt lasted less than a second before Kino picked up the Book of the Vishanti and resumed studying.
It was... decent. Balanced.
It too could be divided into four general types:
Defensive Magic: Like the Shield of Seraphim, which created strong protective barriers.
Teleportation Magic: Portals that allowed for rapid spatial travel.
Offensive Magic: Such as magic whips, scarlet chains, and rings of fire—spells with strong attack and binding abilities.
Special Magic: Including astral projection, mirror dimension manipulation, and the Form of the Ikonn—all offering unique effects.
Although not as powerful as Darkhold spells, these were versatile and lacked serious side effects. They could be used for attack, defense, escape, or setting up battle formations.
Kino decided to try Creation Magic first.
As red magical energy rose from his hands, a distorted figure began to take shape in the room—constantly morphing, shaping itself.
"Neighhh—"
A white unicorn let out a soft cry, its voice clear and melodious like heavenly music, echoing through the room.
Its body emitted a gentle white glow.
The unicorn looked at Kino and bowed its head in submission.
"No soul, huh?"
Kino reached out and stroked its neck. It felt amazing... maybe it could be turned into a rug?
But looking into the unicorn's loyal eyes, he decided against it.
Creation Magic couldn't create souls—it could only generate consciousness. These beings were essentially high-level AIs: they could think, breed, love or hate, but they had no fear of death.
"Go play somewhere else. Don't bother me."
Kino patted the unicorn, planning to try creating new life.
The unicorn nodded gently and walked away, unwillingly sitting in a corner and watching its creator quietly.
That night.
Pamela and Venom picked up Damian from school. Along the way, they ran into Gwen, who had tied up Harley Quinn with spider silk.
Apparently, Gwen had encountered Harley while patrolling as Spider-Woman, catching her in the middle of beating up some street punks.
Harley noticed Gwen's ring—identical to Little Red's—and didn't resist.
After Pamela explained everything, Gwen let her go.
"Darling, we're ho—what the...?"
As they stepped into the house, Pamela and the others were struck dumb by what they saw.
A white unicorn was strolling elegantly through the room. In the sky, a Phoenix and Rayquaza chased each other playfully.
Dozens of colorful slimes bounced across the floor, chased by several large yellow mice. Giant butterflies the size of washbasins fluttered in the corners.
A red dinosaur and a blue turtle were locked in fierce combat...
"You're back! Come, behold my masterpiece."
Kino proudly showed off the work he had spent the most time on—Bumblebee, the Transformer.
"Hello, mistresses. Hello, young master."
The yellow sports car flashed its headlights in greeting.
"Hello... Wait, darling—where did all these come from?!"
Pamela greeted it blankly, before suddenly snapping out of her daze and demanding answers.
"I created them. Bumblebee, transform!"
With a series of mechanical whirs and clicks, the car shifted into a five-meter-tall robot—smashing its head into the ceiling.
"Bit of a hiccup—but isn't it cool!?"
Kino beamed with pride. He hadn't expected Creation Magic to be this powerful. It could even generate silicon-based lifeforms!
"This is awesome! I love it! Little Kino, can I have it!?"
Harley's eyes sparkled with little stars.
"No. It's mine."
"Please? I'll sleep with you."
"Can't you try something else? Do you really see me as some sex-starved pervert?"
"Isn't that exactly what you are?"
"…"
Kino was speechless.
Quote of the Chapter:"To create is divine—to give life to the lifeless is to dance on the edge of godhood."
