Chapter 100 - Chapter 100: Next Target

The hotel glowed with warm lights.

Ren Asakura was sprawled out on a soft bed, sound asleep—even though he technically didn't need sleep.

Lu Mingfei sat on his bed, gently stroking the Seven Deadly Sins in his hands.

He planned to refine it a little, just enough to store it within his spiritual sea.

Mai, exhausted from the day, lay on her bed after a shower, replaying the thrilling events over in her mind.

Old Tang and Constantine shared a room.

These two brothers hadn't seen each other in over a thousand years.

The night was always deep and quiet—

And when it's time to rest, one must rest.

The next day.

The sun was shining, and the skies were clear.

A perfect day for stirring up trouble.

Right now, the only person Lu Mingfei could truly call a "friend" was Old Tang.

All the people he'd meet in the future—he didn't even know them yet.

And if you don't know someone, how could you call them a friend?

To Lu Mingfei and Old Tang, the most fun thing in the world was probably playing StarCraft together at the internet café.

Now that the crisis was resolved, Lu Mingfei finally relaxed.

So they all pulled an all-nighter gaming at a net café.

After gaming, they grabbed spicy hotpot, skewers from a street stall, or a big bowl of hand-shaved noodles.

The one footing the bill? Their dedicated "nanny," Mai.

In their daily lives, Lu Mingfei, Ren Asakura, and Old Tang behaved just like ordinary, lazy shut-in gamers—

Eating, sleeping, gaming, repeating.

And still asking her to pay.

Sure, it wasn't much money.

But Mai often had an indescribable feeling of absurdity—

That even the Dragon King himself was scarfing down street food and getting crushed in online games.

And he was the one losing, too.

Sometimes, Mai genuinely wondered if this was even the same world she thought she knew.

As for her mission—investigating Ren Asakura—

She couldn't even begin to explain the results.

Ren Asakura put down his rice bowl and stretched lazily.

"Old Tang, Mingfei, we've rested long enough. How about we go stir up some more trouble?"

Lu Mingfei put down his chopsticks.

"Sure, group leader. I don't have anything urgent right now."

Ren Asakura smiled mysteriously.

"You're going to run into the King of Earth and Mountains eventually anyway. So how about we go meet him early and 'borrow' the force he represents—Fenrir? That kid's IQ is like a three-year-old's. With our adult-level brainpower, we'll absolutely stomp him. Then you'll be the new generation of Dragon Rider. Just think about the last one—Yin Zhiping…"

Lu Mingfei was speechless.

There were… let's just say… different kinds of "dragon riders."

Still, he knew one day, he would inevitably face the King of Earth and Mountains—

Jörmungandr and Fenrir.

One represented Authority.

The other represented Power.

Only when power and authority merged could one become the true king of the dragons.

Hel, the Goddess of Death…

Jörmungandr, who represented wisdom, had absolute control over strength—

like a precision instrument.

Fenrir, once he unleashed the Dance of Shiva, could trigger a city-level earthquake.

Within the realm of his Speech Incantation, all living things would die the moment the spell was completed.

This was the death domain of the King of Earth and Mountains.

After awakening, Jörmungandr transformed into a cute, seemingly ordinary girl named Xia Mi,

secretly observing human behavior—

with a particular focus on one person: Chu Zihang.

The same Chu Zihang that, in the future, Lu Mingfei would defy the whole world just to find.

Of course, another reason was that Chu Zihang bore Odin's mark.

To stay close, Jörmungandr even played multiple roles in his life—

Like a senior in the cheerleading squad.

She played the role of a student council senior.

A junior seeking academic advice.

But unfortunately, Chu Zihang was a stoic, emotionally repressed man—and on top of that, a textbook straight arrow.

Even after going to the three classic dating spots, absolutely nothing happened.

When Jörmungandr left, she sealed off the part of Chu Zihang's memory related to her.

The next time they met…

She had a new identity—

Xia Mi,

a freshman at Kassel College.

But in the end, Chu Zihang saw through her disguise and stabbed a Cambridge folding knife straight into her heart.

Jörmungandr—down!

Fenrir went berserk and unleashed Dance of Shiva.

Lu Mingfei gave up a quarter of his life just to take him out.

Fenrir—down!

The King of Earth and Mountains had fallen!

Lu Mingfei, recalling all of this, said:

"I remember Jörmungandr infiltrated Kassel College for Constantine. After all, she didn't want to devour her own brother. The twin royals who sat on the throne shared a deep bond. Unless there was absolutely no other choice, they'd never harm one another."

A thousand years is just too long, too lonely.

The lifespan of a Dragon King stretches on for ages.

In such an eternal life, only blood ties could offer real warmth.

Maybe Jörmungandr sensed the death of the King of Bronze and Fire—that's what made her act.

But in the end, she still lost to Lu Mingze's schemes.

She still fell.

Ren Asakura spoke in a calm tone.

"Your little brother's definitely gonna stir up some chaos. So why don't we get ahead of him and stir it up first? That way, he'll have nothing left to mess with. Jörmungandr's really pretty, with super fair skin—I bet she's perfect for cupping therapy… A cute girl like her probably cries for ages if you punch her once."

Lu Mingfei: "...!"

Old Tang seemed to recall some traumatic memory and could only silently mourn Jörmungandr for half a minute in his heart.

Lu Mingfei thought for a moment, then asked, "Can I say no?"

Ren Asakura gave him a big, hearty grin. "What do you think?"

The gears of fate had already begun turning.

The iron throne had emerged.

No one could escape—

Unless they possessed absolute, overwhelming power.

Jörmungandr, with her terrifying intelligence, sensed this too. That's why she decided to devour her brother—

to fully merge power and authority,

to become the true Dragon King.

To birth the Death God, Hel—

and face the storm that was fast approaching.

But after a thousand years, emotions had run deep.

In order to find a substitute, Jörmungandr risked everything—even death—to infiltrate Kassel and steal Constantine's body.

In the end, she was driven back by Lu Mingze's agent—Mai—who, frankly, was totally cheating.

At that point, Jörmungandr had no other options.

Mai suddenly had a bad feeling.

Ren Asakura wore a mischievous grin—itching to stir up some trouble.

Lu Mingfei could only shake his head helplessly.

Old Tang was lost in memories of Jörmungandr and Fenrir—it had been a long time since they'd last met.

Finally, Mai couldn't hold it in anymore and asked:

"So… what are we doing next?"

Ren Asakura curled his lips into a sly smirk.

"Next, we head straight to the lair of the King of Earth and Mountains—

and kidnap Fenrir, the incarnation of raw strength.

You've heard of human traffickers, right?

We're dragon traffickers!"

Mai thought she misheard.

"You want to kidnap the King of Earth and Mountains? I know you're strong, but we're talking about a Dragon King here. Who the hell do you think will buy a kidnapped Dragon King? Kassel? The hybrid clans…?"

"Relax, relax!"

Ren Asakura waved his hand nonchalantly.

"I already figured out a way to 'offload' the Dragon King. But at the same time, I also want ransom money. So what do you think I should do?"

Lu Mingfei's face changed instantly.

"You—you're gonna double-cross both sides?! Take money from everyone!?"
