Chapter 7 - The decision: Right or Wrong

As the team left, Anna was heartbroken. Since childhood, Lucas had been the only friend who understood how she felt. He always supported Anna in her hard times. But now, she felt that the person she admired the most hated her. She wanted to make Lucas understand her, but now she felt that no one cared — after all, Lucas was the only one...

The day passed in silence, and it was morning already.

During breakfast, Adam asked, "So, how was your meeting? What is the decision? Are we a part of the crew or not?"

"We were unable to decide the result, so we will continue the meeting today. Sorry, Adam!" replied Oscar.

"Oh! No worries! We'll wait. After all, it takes time," responded Adam.

As they started the meeting, Auther said, "I think we should let them in. What's the worst they can do?"

"He is right. They don't look dangerous. I think we should trust them. Also, Isha is a great chef — after all, we need one," declared Oscar.

"Alright, let's call them in and designate the positions for every member now," ordered Anna.

As they entered the room, they were greeted by the crew, who declared their decision.

"Alright now, everybody, please come down. We will celebrate your welcome on board in the evening. But for now, we need to discuss the designated position for every person," said Anna loudly to maintain the silence of the crowded room.

"Oh right, I completely forgot about that! I think Adam should be our medic — or doctor, in other words — because he is a scholar in medical studies. Is that okay with you, Adam?" asked Oscar.

"Oh yeah, no worries! I really wanted to be the medic!" replied Adam.

"Now, the captain is Oscar, and Auther should be our sharpshooter. Is that okay with you, Auther?" declared Anna.

"No, I don't have any problem — because I have great eyesight," answered Auther.

"I will be the ship's navigator, and Anna will be the quartermaster. How about that?" asked Isha.

"Oh! No problem! You see, I wanted to be the quartermaster because I am very good in financial literacy," replied Anna.

"Well, that settles it. This meeting is officially over — now we can celebrate!" exclaimed Oscar.

During the party, Lucas noticed Anna's strange behaviour. She seemed to avoid the party completely. Lucas realised that Anna was still upset about yesterday.

"Hey, Anna, why aren't you joining the party?" asked Lucas.

But Anna ignored him as if he didn't exist.

"Look, I'm sorry about yesterday. You know I didn't mean that. You're my best friend—"

"Then why didn't you apologise?" asked Anna.

"Because… I know they are innocent," replied Lucas.

"And I'm the main villain? Look, leave me alone. I don't want to fight with you," said Anna angrily.

Lucas opened his mouth, then paused. He could feel her frustration — the anger bubbling just beneath her words. If he said even one more thing, it would only make it worse. So, he turned and walked back into the party, choosing not to argue any further.

"Alright guys, I'll be right back," said Adam, looking at Isha.

"Umm… I have to go to the washroom. One second," said Isha, a little too quickly.

Oscar thought they might be planning something — after all, he still didn't trust them.

"Isha, here," said Adam as he saw her come out.

"We need to somehow take them to our island. Can you do something about it?" asked Adam.

"Don't worry. You know I chose the navigator role so that I would have control of the map," replied Isha.

As they returned, Oscar said, " I'll come in a minute. You guys enjoy. " and went towards Anna, told her something in her ear and went. Later, Anna followed.
