Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: The Gathering Storm

Kairos and the Lightning Warborn

The air was thick with tension. Kairos knelt on one knee, his body battered, blood trickling down his lip. But despite his injuries, his expression was filled with something other than pain—anticipation.

Before him, the Lightning Warborn—his lord and master—stood shrouded in pulsing arcs of electricity, his form obscured by the sheer magnitude of his power.

"You failed, Kairos."

The words were not filled with anger—instead, they carried a weight of disappointment.

Kairos clenched his jaw. "Forgive me, my lord. The Celestial Tempest… they were stronger than anticipated."

The Warborn exhaled slowly, his voice carrying through the battlefield like rolling thunder.

"That Bolt child… I see why you struggled." He stepped forward, each movement sending small sparks dancing across the ruined ground. "But you were never meant to defeat them, Kairos."

Kairos looked up sharply. "I wasn't?"

The Warborn's golden eyes glowed beneath his hood, his presence suffocating. "No. You were meant to test them. To see how far they had come."

Kairos' mind raced. "Then… does that mean—?"

The Warborn smirked. "Yes."

He raised his hand, and from the storm clouds above, golden lightning converged, striking the ground with a deafening explosion.

When the light faded, figures began emerging from the lightning-charged air—warriors, clad in armor marked by the insignia of the Warborn.

Kairos's eyes widened.

"The true war begins now."

Bolt and the Celestial Tempest – Aftermath of the Battle

Meanwhile, Bolt stood at the heart of the battlefield, his body still trembling from the immense power he had just unleashed. His breath was ragged, sweat dripped down his forehead, but he refused to collapse.

Akane, Aether, and Sylva stood behind him, while Ren and Valea, though injured, had managed to stabilize Damian's condition.

The battle was over… for now.

Bolt turned to his team. "We need to get back to the Academy. Now."

Akane nodded. "The headmaster needs to hear what just happened."

Aether glanced around. "What about the bodies?"

Bolt clenched his fists. So many had fallen. Even though Ren and Valea had survived, their entire faction had been wiped out. They had lost comrades, lost warriors who had placed their trust in them.

"We'll make sure they're honored," Bolt said firmly. "But we need to move."

As they turned to leave, Ren suddenly stopped. His face palpaled.

"Wait—" His voice was shaky. "Did anyone confirm Kairos's body?"

Everyone froze.

Sylva whipped around, scanning the ruins of the battlefield. "We saw him fall. He should be—"

A sudden cold chill ran down their spines.

There was no body.

Kairos was gone.

Bolt's eyes darkened. "This isn't over."

---

The Lightning Warborn has summoned his army, preparing for the true battle to come.

Kairos has survived, retreating to his master's side.

Bolt and the Celestial Tempest return to the Academy, unaware of the storm that is about to strike.

The war is about to begin.
