With Jess locked safely in the med bay we were ready for the next attack. Pipe bombs were thrown at the front door and reinforcements were sent to guard the Layla and the wounded.
Belle had already been wearing leather gloves. She took a second to put on a cloth face mask to protect the baby. Though she couldn't risk using ear plugs.
Belle and I were in the cafeteria and we leapt out the window to join the fight. We slipped into the bushed and waited until we could see sets of black boots. We gunned them down before running along the wall to the front yard. Being smaller I let Belle boost me up to the windowsill above me so we could fight side by side. Holding on with my claw and using my foot against the wall to move I turned my head around the corner and we gunned down fighters until Belle suddenly grabbed my foot and pulled me down and we ran around the back.
"The snipers saw us," She explained, panting as she did.
I turned and shot a pursuer before we turned the corner.
