Chapter 193 - Chapter 193. Mei: Kiana, Are You Also Interested in Xander?

Chapter 193. Mei: Kiana, Are You Also Interested in Xander?

After lunch, seeing the four of them lazily piled together on the spacious sofa, Kiana felt tempted to join them. But she'd barely taken two steps when Mei caught her by the scruff of the neck.

"You still have a lot of work unfinished—you can't rest yet~"

The words of doom sounded right in her ear, and Kiana's resistance instantly wilted.

As a rising star in the voice-acting world, whether it was the Yu-Gi-Oh! anime or Yu-Gi-Oh! the game, a lot needed her voice. On workdays she practically had to stay in the recording studio all day; for the usually laid-back Kiana, it was torture.

Click—the recording studio door closed. Looking defeated, Kiana walked toward the booth, muttering under her breath, "I've never once found voice acting fun."

"Alright, stop complaining. Do you want to come over and take a breather?"

Standing in the open area, Mei raised her arms in a long stretch, smiling at Kiana.

Her fitted business suit made her figure look even fuller and more poised, and her sheer black stockings glinted with a tempting sheen.

"Eh? Weren't we supposed to be working?"

Kiana stopped in her tracks and stared at Mei in surprise.

"It's lunch break. What's the rush? Didn't you see I even came to the studio with you?"

"Oh, right."

Blanking out for a second, Kiana suddenly realized—what was the executive assistant doing in the recording studio for no real reason?

Watching Mei head to the lounge, choose a recliner, lie down, and close her eyes, Kiana hurried over too and dragged a chair next to her.

Once she was lying down, Kiana turned her head to study Mei's lovely profile. "Mei, why aren't we just resting at Xander's place? It should be more comfortable there, right?"

"Learn to read the room."

Her eyes cracked open a sliver, already hazy with drowsiness.

Mei let out a small yawn, then said slowly, "Do you still not understand the relationship among those four? It's break time—why bother them? What, are you interested in Xander too?"

"...O-of course not. That guy always treats me like a bro—how could there be anything between us?"

Kiana's heart gave a sudden thump, and she forced a laugh.

"So there's no need for us to stay there. Who knows what those people might get up to."

Pursing her lips, Mei recalled the last time on the sofa when Bronya and Xander made her part of their play; her cheeks couldn't help turning red.

"R-right? Hahaha..."

The corner of Kiana's mouth twitched. Now she was regretting it—deeply regretting it.

"In the whole house, only the two of us have nothing to do with Xander. Those people don't even know how to show a little restraint, sigh..."

"No more chatting, I'm so sleepy. I set an alarm—don't worry. Just sleep."

"Mm..."

As Mei's breathing soon evened out, Kiana rocked gently on the recliner, staring at the ceiling in a daze.

What would Xander and the four of them be doing? In the office, they wouldn't dare go that far... right?

Her face warmed, and she simply kept her eyes wide open.

She fell asleep.

On the other side, Xander Masato certainly wasn't doing anything too excessive.

Of course, just not too excessive.

"Ease up. I'm sleeping."

Bronya squinted, glanced down at the handprint rising on her chest, and yawned.

"Then turn around."

At that, Bronya slowly rolled back. Xander withdrew his hand at just the right moment. Before he could speak, Bronya took the initiative to hug his head and press it to her chest.

"This is going to be hot."

With a soft complaint, Bronya just hugged him tighter, closed her eyes, and fell silent.

Kaguya Houraisan lay behind him, arms around his waist, pressed against his back and sleeping soundly. Seele, who had returned from the restroom, naturally had no space left; from the back she inched forward, worming into the gap between Bronya and her brother.

"Don't crawl into my clothes."

Unfortunately, Seele pretended not to hear.

His loose top bulged; Seele's small face rested against his abs and rubbed lightly. Her warm breath made his lower belly itch.

Maintaining this odd posture, the four of them actually slept straight through until the lunch break ended before slowly waking.

Pulling Xander Masato's hand out from under her skirt, Bronya sat on the sofa, straightening her messed-up black tights, yawning and stretching. Her movements woke the remaining three, who all drowsily opened their eyes.

As soon as Seele's little head emerged from the clothes, Bronya tapped it: "Let go. This thing still needs to be used tonight."

"Huh?"

Letting out a cute sound effect, Seele looked confusedly at her sister Bronya, then looked down at the handle she was holding, immediately let out a small gasp, and quickly released her hand.

No helping it, the position was just too perfect; Seele had grabbed it when pulling her head out.

"Don't just grab anything randomly. It hurts."

Quipping this, Xander Masato sat up and scratched his stomach, immediately feeling a small, sticky patch of moisture on his hand.

Seeing this, Seele subconsciously wiped the corner of her mouth, then embarrassedly took out a tissue and hurriedly wiped it clean for her older brother.

After the flustered cleanup, the group at their workstations regained their composure, as if the earlier commotion had nothing to do with them.

"This came from Anti-Entropy HQ—the current progress on Yu-Gi-Oh!."

Standing by her brother's side, Seele handed over an already open tablet.

"Mm."

Nodding, Xander took the tablet, scrolled through it, and his brows gradually knit.

"Too slow."

"Indeed, too slow," Bronya said, stroking her chin as she leaned in.

"At this pace, by the time the second half of the year comes around we'll only be able to put out a half-finished product. That won't do."

Handing the tablet to Bronya for her to go over with Kaguya, Xander looked to Seele.

"Get in touch with Group HQ and have them keep transferring more modelers. We need to boost the current speed by at least fifty percent to get a satisfactory result. If that doesn't work, I'll reach out personally."

"Mm! Seele understands!"

Seele nodded and immediately stepped aside with her phone to make the call.

"It's not exactly their fault. Modeling monsters in Yu-Gi-Oh! is a lot more troublesome than Pokémon, and you have to ensure the stability of all their motions."

"Their movement needs flexibility close to Pokémon's, the original art is so intricate, and we still have to design flashy attack and hit reactions. At the current speed, it already feels fast."

Listening to Bronya and Kaguya's analysis, Xander sighed.

"Of course I know. That's why I told them to send more people. If the game turns out bad, it'll hurt Gensokyo's brand."

"Forget it, I don't want to think about this for now. Delivery schedule problems are easy to solve—you just pile on people. Worst case, we outsource it. Anti-Entropy isn't short on money anyway. As long as Sakura's side has no issues, we're fine."
