Saga: Journey to the Sunrise
Arc 1: Retro Anomaly
Chapter 17 – Myths
Lanmyth pressed his arm on the ground, feeling Gyca had held it too. Slowly, all the possibilities broke, and like a mirror crack, their dome broke and the anomaly disappeared into thin air.
"Where is it?" Scyures searched.
"It escaped." Lanmyth looked up at the bright sky, the savior of all—he had that feeling.
The ground was glowing with a faint cyan hue. Branches of trees had fallen, either turned to ash or broken. Everything that was engulfed within the circumference of the dome was annihilated.
The particles in the air were slowly disappearing.
When will the anomaly return? Would it be stronger?
Blergh!
Zarita punched right onto Lanmyth's stomach as he flew back and struck a rock.
"You!!" She was growling, "You let it escape!"
Lanmyth rose from the dust which blew because of his impact on the rock.
"You insolent brat! We all would have died if I didn't saved us!"
Lanmyth was partially right—there would be no way they all could've been saved unless...
"We all had our revive abilities charged! Your plan was a failure! I was asking you since yesterday, tell me the plan, we can make some changes if needed. But no! You and your ego drowned us all!"
Lanmyth drew in the warm-cold air silently in his mouth, realizing he really was fooled by his own mistake, which was later confirmed when:
[THE ABILITY "NANO-RECONSTRUCT" LV2 IS FULLY CHARGED!]
And finally, he accepted his failure. Due to the sublime feeling of godly ascents, he forgot his own power.
Lanmyth vanished from the place with a last rustle in the leaves.
"He ran away!" Myale commented. Zarita bit her lip.
The soil was moist, and in that, there was a big smoke. Zarita swung a half-broken tree to disperse it, and beyond that were all the Natteflusks who had disappeared due to the anomaly.
The small folks walked towards the trio and surrounded them. One of them spoke.
"Are you our saviour?"
The trio had confused but seemingly understood emotion.
Zarita rested her hands on her waist as she...
KRRACK—
She ceased to exist in the place she was. Myale, with no time being wasted, covered every single folk including Scyures in a wooden cage.
"The fight isn't over yet!" Scyures proclaimed.
"No!" Myale looked at the gap from which Scyures was peeking out. "It's over, this was the last try of Anomaly!"
Just then, the whole surroundings changed, and the trees started to regrow.
A bolt of lightning fell from the sky as a rose made of bones manifested.
[ABILITY EVOLVED: "HELLISH REVIVE" HAS BEEN ACTIVATED]
(This ability revives the user within some seconds by consuming their previous morphed life forms and using them to create a more endurable and better human body similar to their origin.
Some information is still unknown due to under-development issues!)
A human rose from the ground — in particular, a woman. Her crimson hair flowed in the breeze of the newly fallen season which had just come upon them.
There were new flowers and new plants. Slowly, the wooden cage dissected, and all the folks came out.
Scyures looked at that woman and spoke.
"It's been a while since I saw your silver eyes!"
Zarita crossed her hands and eyes, facing the opposite side with a "Hmph!" — puffing her cheeks.
She was in a tight black outfit with crimson patterns like moons and stars, a scarf with a long tail. A short skirt and long socks (whatever it's called) draped around her upper thighs, and leather boots.
A pendant rested over her bosom, appearing as a crescent moon with a red hue.
A black hairband tied to her back held her hair tightly behind, with the air crisping around her forehead.
Scyures cleaned his hair, which had become messy, as their platinum hue sang among the birds.
Myale's yellow eyes captivated every folk there as they asked their names.
"All hail Myale!"
"All hail Scyures!"
"All hail Zarita!"
All three of them were laughing.
{NEAR THE POND}
Lanmyth was sitting there, looking at his reflection in the pond, washing his sky-white hair. His blue eyes reflected on his face as he drew circles in the water.
He looked up — the leaves were rustling. Some fallen trees had nests on them, as if a new season had arrived.
The green leaves had turned dark green with yellowish sparkles around them.
He looked up, hearing some voice—
"All hail—"
"Looks like they found all of them!"
Lanmyth was sure that after this blow, Anomaly might not be able to hold the stolen folks. So they were sure of victory.
And...
(Lina:—Master, you look tired and burned out!)
"I think I am... what about you?"
(I'M an AI. I can't feel exhaustion.)
"But still, you're pretty advanced, right? At least you can feel emotions."
(Well, I don't know if my response would meet your expectations. But sometimes, even I want to feel the land, the water, the air. But I can somehow feel them by mimicking their composition, which gives a human the feel of them through codes and data.)
"But that requires using your brain, right? Instead, feeling it without thinking much is also pretty cool, you know."
Lanmyth heard some children's laughter. He looked up and saw Hein was running around.
"There he is. I was somewhat worried where he might be."
(Lina:—Who's that other girl?)
"Girl?"
Lanmyth washed his face with a splash of water and then looked up towards the children.
Hein was there, sure, but... there was another girl playing with him. She seemed pretty normal—black hair and eyes, tan skin.
[THE REALM OF CELESTIALS IS MOVING...]
Lanmyth brushed the message off and started walking towards them.
"Hey! Hein! Here!" Lanmyth raised his hand while crunching over some wooden sticks under his feet.
Hein and the other girl looked at him as the girl suddenly started flying. Lanmyth was taken aback as they slowly closed their distance.
Now, the girl and Hein were standing in front of him.
"Who is she?" Lanmyth crouched.
(Lina:—Error 404)
She seems... something abnormal.
"I don't know. She wanted to play and kept mentioning me as her master so I agreed. She's less creepy than that girlfriend of yours!"
Where did he learn such phrases?
Lanmyth grabbed Hein's ear and spoke while pulling him.
"Listen! First of all, she isn't my girlfriend. At least for now. Second of all, why are you here when everyone else is there—eh?

Lanmyth looked at the screen shifting colours between faint blue and faint cyan.
"It's taking too much time!" He sat on the place while both the kids just looked at him.
[*TITLE IS BEING GENERATED, PLEASE WAIT...*]
"What's taking too much time?" Hein asked, slowly walking towards Lanmyth as the girl behind rested her finger on her lip's edge and tilted her head in wonder.
"None of your business," Lanmyth said calmly.
He held Hein's head and flicked his forehead.
Ouch!
Hein held his forehead and rubbed it while slowly sitting in his place.
The girl slowly walked near Lanmyth, her mini-bangs flowing with the gentle breeze. With striking ice-like hair—a mix of blue shades and white.
In a way, she resembled Lanmyth. Blue eyes and white lashes.
She was standing in front of Lanmyth; her face could be seen through the system window.
It kind of reminded Lanmyth about Erika, who might be heavily injured.
[NEW TITLE HAS BEEN GERMINATED]
[YOUR NEW TITLE IS… CRACK!]
Crack??
Lanmyth instantly stood up as he saw the girl catch the system window with her hands. Her fingers digging into the screen, cracking it.
"Who are you?" He took a step back, slowly pulling Hein behind him. "You can't be normal in any way!"
"I am a fragment!"
Fragment?
Lanmyth riddled his mind but couldn't find the ones to put together. Is she a fragment of a deity?
"Whose fragment? What do you need from us??"
"I am a god!"
A god? The Mother Earth's words regressed in Lanmyth's mind.
"They are coming"
Is she one of they?
