Arianna tapped the screen again. Skye still hadn't replied, it has been days, nothing new came in from the message box, even the email. Not even a bird with a message tied to its foot.
Arianna sat on the edge of the couch, phone in hand, thumb hovering over the call button for the agency. She could almost hear her own heartbeat thumping in the silence. The more she thought about it, the more it made no damn sense– Skye suddenly decided that Leonard wasn't a bad man anymore.
She was about to press dial when the door opened and Ryan walked in.
Dressed in black jeans, unbuttoned white shirt, tattoos peeking out from beneath his sleeves. The shadows under his eyes weren't from lack of sleep, she knew that look.
"What are you doing?"
Arianna's thumb slipped off the screen. "Nothing. Just... checking something."
"Good. I thought you looked tense."
