Chapter 24 - The Beginning of Strength

Flare woke her at dawn to guide her to the mansion training grounds. The team began their workout session with multiple physical exercises that included endurance running and agility exercises, and martial arts training with different weapons. Lita learned to wield a sword, something she had never thought herself capable of, but under Flare's guidance, her movements became sharper, her strikes more precise.

Flare watched Lita perform every blade swing while correcting her movements and demanding that Lita improve her speed and strength.

The team began their afternoon activities by practicing magic. Flare required Lita to memorize all magic incantations while teaching her to understand the fundamental principles behind her spells. Lita learned from her instructor how to handle her energy while mastering the skill of summoning and dispelling magic at will.

Lita discovered that she had a natural talent for both elemental spells and combat magic, which made it easier for her to learn both forms of magic.

Lita felt the burden of her family's legacy even after she became more powerful. She spent every night remembering her mother's icy behavior and Sylana's deceitful tactics, which led her to foresee a dark future that advanced closer with each new day.

The forthcoming events would demand her complete physical capabilities along with a dedication that surpassed her present age.

One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon and they wrapped up another session of sword drills, Lita turned to Flare, her muscles aching but her spirit unbroken.

"Will it be enough?" she asked, panting slightly.

Flare wiped the sweat from her brow and gave Lita a thoughtful look.

"The truth is, Lita, I don't know. Sylana is dangerous, and your mother… well, her power is beyond anything either of us can fully comprehend. But what I do know is that strength isn't just about skill or magic. It's about who you are inside."

Lita furrowed her brow, trying to understand. Flare explained that her fight involved greater stakes than her personal battle. Your family love and your protection needs toward your loved ones will become your source of power.

That special ability remains beyond the reach of both Sylana and your mother. Lita nodded, her determination renewed.

"I'll keep training. I won't let them control my fate."

Flare smiled faintly.

"Good. We'll keep pushing forward."

The days transformed into a continuous sequence of events that brought new obstacles to face. Lita's magical skills advanced through her improved capacity to control elemental powers. She could now summon flames, manipulate water, and harness the wind with relative ease. Her swordsmanship, too, had improved drastically—her strikes were faster, more fluid, and her defense was almost impenetrable.

The two weeks of training brought Lita to the highest strength level of her life. The actual challenge that she needed to complete remained pending at that moment.

The two-week training period ended with Lita returning to the training yard and holding her sword while magical energy flowed through her fingers. She had developed stronger and sharper skills, which allowed her to concentrate better. The results of her training became visible through each movement she executed.

Her mother, who usually displayed distant behavior, watched her from the hidden area. She stood on the balcony, which overlooked the training area, and watched Lita's every strike with a sense of silent pride.

Her gaze showed that she approved of Lita because she had become a warrior who would fulfill her destiny.

Lita completed her drills with breathless exhaustion, but she felt pleased because she had made progress. She gazed at her mother, who stood on the balcony in search of her mother's approval. Her mother made a slight nod, which became a powerful communication. Lita received a fresh goal when that person acknowledged her existence.

The results from her training showed positive development.

Lita entered her personal space that evening to write a letter from her desk. She needed to connect with someone who exists outside the mansion boundaries, which she could not explain. She used the training period to create both a need for guidance and a need to share her inner turmoil from the training period.

Her pen created scratching sounds as it moved on the parchment while the words developed themselves.
