During the absence of the uncle, Ilay and Leonhart took it upon themselves to start training me to the best of their abilities. The first thing we worked on was just endurance training, training my stamina and trying to remove the habit of flinching as an attack was coming by.
Time flew by without me even noticing, and now here I was, standing alongside Leonhart in front of the massive school.
"Are you sure everything is going to be fine?" I asked him nervously.
There were many students standing in front of the gates, a lot more than I would've guessed; the gates were still closed. Only an extremely small number of those students were wearing black uniforms.
"Don't worry, they're not at all as smart as you think." He responded with confidence.
What does that mean? Why wouldn't they be smart? Don't they all come from, like… super prestigious and powerful families? It's not like they gained that power by sitting on their asses doing nothing all day long.
Somewhere in the crowd was also Elena, most likely, but she was small, so I couldn't spot her in the crowd.
Then the gates finally opened themselves, and the students calmly began to enter; the first to enter were the nobles dressed in black, and then everyone else was allowed in.
Strangely enough, they all split into groups of mostly two to three individuals, with many of them heading alone to their respective classrooms.
"So where's our classroom?" I asked him.
"I don't know; we'll decide where we study. Isn't that fun? We could jump to the last class if we really want, study with the seniors, and if we pass the finals, then we're graduated!" Leo said to me.
"Did you do that?" I asked him, surprised.
"Nope, Ilay did that." He responded.
I was floored by that answer. I didn't even know what to comment. I knew Ilay was exceptional, but not to that point.
He must've studied like a madman to do that, wow.
Leo then took my hands and began dragging me towards the school before the rest of the people with white uniforms even began moving.
"So where do you think we should go?" He asked me with his usual innocent smile.
I still couldn't get used to the contrast; after seeing how serious he could turn out when sparring, seeing him so jovial felt uncomfortable to look at.
"I don't know; what would you recommend?" I asked him.
He stopped for a moment before he dragged me towards the elevator; it needed a staff key to operate, but Leo happened to be in possession of the key to use the staff elevator that can be found near the entrance.
He pressed the button that led us to the last floor, and there we began exploring a bit. On the last floor there were only classes that belonged to the last year, all being in ninth grade; this immediately made me start sweating cold blood.
"What are we doing here?" I asked Leo nervously; I was slowly starting to lag behind him as I didn't want to enter any of those classrooms.
"Choosing our class, obviously? We can't just let Ilay be the only one to be able to go to school just for a single year." Leo confidently responded as he opened the door to a random class.
Inside there were a couple Black uniforms happily chatting; one of them had a weird earring in the shape of a small stick and had a teardrop tattoo right under his right eye, and the other one had white hair and purple eyes.
Both of them looked to be at least three times as tall compared to us.
"Shouldn't we wait for our bodyguards or maids to arrive? I don't think I've seen my maid today." I whispered to him.
"I don't think that's going to be a problem, anyway—" Before he could finish his sentence, one of the students dressed in black slammed his fist the moment we stepped into the classroom, clearly glaring at us.
"Are you lost?" He asked us.
Ohh? Are we in trouble? Should we back away now? Leo, please don't make irrational decisions; we might end up.
He confidently walked forward without a care in the world, ignoring the warning of that noble and heading directly to the tables directly to his right side, next to the window.
"Don't you think these would be some cool spots, away from the eyes and attention of the teacher so we can do whatever we want, and facing the window so that we're not stuck in a boring spot? What do you think?" He asked me as he had already sat down on the seat.
Leo, please stop this… Why are you trying so hard to get the dude angry? No, wait a second, how did they even get here before us? We used the elevator while they had to walk to get here. Am I missing something?
Before I could respond or even make a single other step, the student in black with dark hair stood up, walked up to Leonhart, and slammed his head against the desk to get his attention.
"Are you lost?" He asked him once more.
"No, why would I be?" Leo answered him while looking him directly in the eyes.
I quickly tried to rush over to Leo to de-escalate the situation only to get pushed away before I could even make it to Leo. He pushed me away with such strength he lifted my feet off the ground.
Ahh, fuck.
My head was incredibly dizzy, and the world around me was spinning like crazy; thankfully, nothing seemed to be broken. And after using a nearby table to lean on, I was able to get back up. My ears were still ringing. I think one of my legs wasn't functioning properly because I couldn't put much weight on it, but the rest… seemed fine.
On the ground there were my pills, completely scattered. After I was sent flying away, my small container must've dropped and spilled its contents.
Fuck, now what? Do I take one of the pills from the ground? That's so disgusting; where's the container anyway?
When I tried getting back up, I almost fell back to the ground; my sense of balance was completely thrown off.
"Look at him, just one small push is enough to send him flying away… What a fucking fraud, and that is the son of the deadliest explorer? No way in hell." The student who pushed me commented, while the other had also begun to glare at Leo.
Ah, so you want to mock me? Let's see how long that laugh lasts. Once news of this reaches my uncle… He'll make sure to put you in your fucking place.
I wanted to transform, or to summon my weapon to deal with the situation myself, but because of the pills I was taking, I couldn't control my demonic energy, meaning I had no way to even summon those powers.
So, this time more slowly, I tried to once again sit by Leo's side. I could've probably easily turned and walked on the free small space in between the last row and the window, but that would've been pretty humiliating to do, like admitting defeat.
As soon as I got closer to him, he pushed me away, with much less strength than before, not enough to send me flying all the way back to the teacher's desk like before, but he did push me against the table immediately behind me.
"What the fuck is wrong with you? Why do you keep messing with me? Do you have a death wish?" I complained out loud this time.
"I'm not planning on establishing a connection with you or your family, so you can go bother someone else." The student responded.
"What are you even talking about? You're the one who approached—" Leo complained.
As he was making a fair point, he was also attacked. Unlike me, however, he was able to avoid getting hit. Even though he was sitting on his chair, I saw the noble attempt a couple more punches before Leo got up and took a step back.
After that, everything slowly turned dark.
