Chapter 284 - Giovanni's Defeat

— — — — — —

Clap! Clap! Clap!

A sudden round of applause broke the silence as Giovanni and Archer strode confidently into the room.

Archer clapped as he smirked. "As expected of Mewtwo. You really are something. But what's this? Planning to betray the boss now?"

Mewtwo shot them both a cold glare. Without speaking, it responded through telepathy, its voice echoing directly in their minds.

"Betrayal? You're giving yourselves too much credit. When did I ever serve you in the first place? Don't flatter yourselves. I've always followed only one person—myself. You arrogant humans."

Mewtwo—born with godlike power—submit to an ordinary human? Don't make it laugh.

"Oh?" Giovanni narrowed his eyes. "You forget... I created you. You were made to serve me."

"Hah?" Mewtwo's expression darkened. "You created me? What a joke. Spare me your delusions. I was born of destiny, not your hands. You had nothing to do with it."

"The actual research was done by Dr. Fuji and Blaine, not you. You just sat in the shadows and reaped the rewards."

"And frankly, I'm done talking. You two can spend the rest of your lives rotting in a human prison."

Without warning, Mewtwo unleashed a terrifying wave of psychic energy aimed straight at Giovanni and Archer.

"Beedrill, Protect!"

Giovanni barked the order, and his Beedrill leapt forward, erecting a shimmering barrier just in time to block the brunt of the psychic blast.

Archer wasn't idle either—he released his Crobat and Houndoom and immediately commanded them to attack Eevee.

He was convinced that human (Eevee) was the real threat—the one who had "corrupted" Mewtwo into this rebellious state. Let Giovanni deal with Mewtwo. He'd handle the source of the problem.

Boom!

Mewtwo's psychic assault smashed into Beedrill's shield, sending visible ripples through the barrier. And yet—it held.

"Huh? It actually held up against my casual strike? Not bad." Mewtwo raised a brow, visibly impressed.

This wasn't the naive, impulsive Mewtwo from the original timeline. After learning so much from Eevee, it had a deep understanding of Pokémon—down to their strengths and growth paths.

And this Beedrill? Normally unimpressive. But under Giovanni's training, it had clearly become something else.

"Beedrill, Mega Evolve!"

"Use Poison Jab—now!"

In a flash of light, Beedrill underwent Mega Evolution and charged straight for Eevee. Archer's Pokémon struck at the same time, all three attacks converging on their target.

BOOM!BOOM!BOOM!

But instead of landing a hit, they collided with an invisible psychic shield in front of Eevee—one that didn't even ripple.

"Impossible!"

Giovanni and Archer both took a step back, eyes wide. That shield wasn't Mewtwo's doing—they could feel it. This power came from that human.

They weren't stupid. They knew the difference.

"Who... the hell are you?" Giovanni demanded, staring Eevee's way with a scowl.

Eevee shrugged nonchalantly. "Wow, looks like your intel network's falling behind. You mean to tell me you don't even recognize me? I'm the owner of a world-class multinational Group and one of Sinnoh's Elite Four."

"Giovanni, buddy... you really need to step up your game."

Giovanni's eyes narrowed further. "You're... that Psychic King Renzo?"

"What are you doing here?!"

"Isn't it obvious?" Eevee grinned. "I came for Mewtwo. He's my close friend. And when your friend's kidnapped and chained up, how could I not come to the rescue?"

Giovanni didn't buy a word of it.

"If that's really why you're here," he sneered, "then why didn't you show up earlier? Mewtwo's been under our control for ages. You waited until our research was just about complete to suddenly show up? Come on."

He was furious. Beyond furious.

Giovanni and Archer exchanged a look—and made their move.

"Ultimate Dominion!"

In that instant, a terrifying wave of pressure exploded out from Eevee, engulfing the room.

It wasn't just power. It was real dominance.

This was a fusion of Reiatsu, Conqueror's Haki, bloodlust, and several other forms of intimidation—all at once. It was like gravity itself collapsed on top of them.

Giovanni, Archer, Dr. Fuji... even Beedrill... all froze in place. Their minds went completely blank.

Then—collapse.

Each one of them dropped to the ground, unconscious.

"Whew. That's done."

Eevee dusted himself off and turned to Mewtwo with a cheeky smile. "Let's loot the place and get out of here."

Mewtwo floated beside him, arms crossed, clearly intrigued. "Whoa, what kind of move was that? It felt insanely powerful—not just some pressure-based technique, and definitely not psychic. Can you teach me?"

"Sure, I can teach you," Eevee replied casually. "But I'll be honest, the way it works for me might not fully apply to you. Some of the core elements aren't transferable. Still, for Conqueror's Haki, I can find a way to help you learn it."

As he spoke, Eevee kept gathering up useful stuff from the base while simultaneously using telepathy to transmit information about Haki directly into Mewtwo's mind. Within moments, Mewtwo had a solid grasp of the basics.

"This is more than enough—I love it," Mewtwo said, visibly pleased. The ability felt powerful, dominant, and stylish. It matched its personality perfectly.

Then Eevee used telepathy again, this time to contact the two trainers waiting outside. "Lance, Lorelei, you guys can come in now… Yep, the entrance is behind Giovanni's chair in his office on the first floor. There's an elevator—yeah, that's it. I already hacked the password, just take it straight down."

The moment Lance and Lorelei received the message, they sprang into action with their team.

Back inside the underground base, Eevee turned to Mewtwo. "The League is about to arrive. You should head to my domain for now—it's better if they don't know you're free. Otherwise, it's gonna be a nonstop parade of trouble."

With a wave of his hand, Eevee opened a portal to Takamagahara.

"Got it. I'll leave things here to you. Just make sure all the data about me is erased. I don't want it falling into the wrong hands again," Mewtwo said as it flew into the portal without hesitation.

Once Mewtwo disappeared, Eevee closed the gate and expanded his psychic senses to scan the entire base. Then, with a thought, he transferred all the valuable items—and especially anything related to Mewtwo—into his Takamagahara storage realm.

With that done, he walked over to a small robot under Red Queen's control. "Red Queen, did you finish copying the data?"

"Yes, Master," Red Queen responded promptly. "All data has been successfully backed up. I've already erased everything related to Mewtwo and made selective edits to the rest. Even if this info ends up in the League's hands, they won't be able to recreate Mewtwo or any other legendary Pokémon."

With her job done, Red Queen retracted her data cables and hopped into Eevee's hand.

"Great. You can head back now," he said, slipping the mini robot into his spatial bracelet.

He then walked to the elevator entrance.

Ding!

A few moments later, the elevator doors slid open. Lance and Lorelei stepped out with a team of agents, all on high alert and releasing their Pokémon as a precaution.

But the first thing they saw was Eevee—though they knew him as Renzo—casually smiling and waving at them.

"Renzo? Why are you standing here like you're waiting for us? Where are the enemies? Where's Giovanni?" Both Lance and Lorelei froze, ordering their Pokémon to stop attacking as they looked around in confusion.

The base was eerily quiet—nothing like the chaotic battlefield they had expected.

Eevee shrugged. "Pretty obvious, right? I already dealt with all of them. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have called you down."

He grinned and added, "Anyway, I'll leave the cleanup to you two. Just a heads-up—Giovanni and Archer are both here in the base. I knocked them out cold. Make sure they're secured properly and collect all their Poké Balls. Don't give them any chance to escape."

Earlier, Eevee had redirected the backlash of his aura attack straight into the Poké Balls of Giovanni's team. It was a creative application of spatial rules that worked perfectly in the Pokémon world. No more hiding inside Poké Balls to dodge attacks.

"Uhh…" Lance and Lorelei exchanged bewildered glances.

"You're telling me… you took down all the enemies by yourself? Including the head of Team Rocket and their top executive Archer?"

They both looked skeptical.

Sure, they knew this guy Renzo was strong—he was the Psychic Elite Four of Sinnoh, after all. But being elite-level strong wasn't the same as instantly defeating champions like Giovanni. Let alone doing it in silence, without breaking a sweat. And Archer wasn't some pushover either.

Lorelei stepped closer with a teasing smile. "Looks like I underestimated you, Renzo."

She reached out playfully to pinch his cheek, but he dodged it without missing a beat. Undeterred, Lorelei hugged one of his arms and refused to let go, bombarding him with questions about everything that had happened.

It didn't take long for the conversation to drift toward Cynthia and Sabrina.

Lance, now sporting a deadpan expression, turned away and waved at the League agents to begin securing the area. He figured it was best to let these two handle their... whatever this was.

Besides, if he stuck around any longer, he had a strong feeling Lorelei would end up freezing him next.
