If he knew it could have been done in a day, he might not have mentioned but he didn't know how long he would be inside. He estimated that it could take three days. So, he informed them that he won't be available for those three days, to be safe and why he won't be available.
He avoided mentioning that it was for a Rank-4 quest, and the girls believed that it was a Rank-3 quest.
They were surprised to hear that, and even said that they thought that he was already Rank-3 at this point, which made Aaron chuckle, but he didn't reveal that he was going for Rank-4.
