"Are you insane? Let them in?"
No sooner had Noah's words fallen than Fury almost choked. He stood up, looking at Noah with disbelief, clearly unable to believe what he had just heard. The others had similar expressions; they couldn't fathom how Noah could make such a decision. Even Loki seemed confused, taking a while to somewhat uncertainly guess
Noah's intention.
"You you wouldn't be thinking of luring them in and then wiping them all out at once, would you?"
"Exactly, that's what I"m thinking."
Noah nodded, admitting his idea without hesitation. Yes, Noah was thinking exactly that, and he intended to do it!
This was an excellent opportunity to expose Earth's magical world. It wasn't that Noah was tired of constantly hiding, but he felt it was no longer necessary.
Protecting Earth was absolutely correct; both Asgard and Kamar-Taj were doing just that. But Noah felt it wasn't nearly enough. When he thought of Thanos's fleet, their arrogant posture, and the exaggerated number of their followers, Noah felt that Earth's mages should do something. Noah had indeed prepared a series of plans to face Thanos and his fleet, but he always believed that plans were just plans. No matter how perfect a plan, it couldn't keep up with unexpected changes. Accustomed to caution, Noah wouldn't put all his hopes on a plan that hadn't been implemented yet.
"Only a fool puts all his eggs in one basket. A rabbit has several burrows to escape disaster, let alone a mage like me!"
Noah decided it was time for the mages to "get a little active," otherwise these guys would truly rust. Apart from anything else, Noah had made so many preparations in the British magical world, and it was time to show them off.
If Noah's plan failed, and Ebony Maw or even Thanos himself entered the fray, at least Noah and his allies wouldn't have to rely on a group of isolated 'tribes" to face this disaster. Well, even if this 'tribe's" technology was actually more advanced than most countries on Earth. But Noah still believed in the power of mages; after all, not everyone was Tony. Back then, even Black Panther and his forces were badly beaten by Thanos's army.
"Truly mad!"
Fury sighed. Noah's idea actually aligned with his tastes.
But having experienced so much, Fury was now even more cautious than Noah; he thought more deeply. He knew that Earth's mages had a strong reputation in the universe, but these aliens seemed to completely disregard them, which was worth pondering. Did they truly disregard them, or did they simply not know?
If it was the second, that would be fine; Earth's mages were powerful enough to perhaps wipe them out. But if it was the first, then Fury thought it better not to provoke them, because if there was a more terrifying entity behind them, then things would get truly difficult. So, the cautious Fury preferred to retrieve the Tesseract and disrupt Loki's plan, ending the matter there.
"Are you sure, Noah?" Tony couldn't help but ask. Charles and the others also looked at Noah with some concern.
"Don't worry, I know what I"m doing." Noah smiled dismissively. "I know what you"re worried about, Fury, but you should know that as long as Earth's guardians are alive, there won won't be major chaos."
"So, what's your plan?" Fury knew that Earth's guardian
was Noah's teacher, so he simply asked Noah what he intended to do.
"It's simple." Noah smiled but didn't answer directly.
Instead, he turned to the somewhat bewildered Loki:
"Where did you choose your landing spot?"
"This"Loki's expression became strange when he heard the question. After an inadvertent glance at Tony, he said with some hesitation, "In New York."
"Hey, I said, New York is so big, where exactly did you choose?" Tony retorted displeasedly at Loki. New York City was so vast; who knew what corner he chose to drop these aliens.
"Alright, alright." Loki spread his hands helplessly, saying with a hint of sarcasm, "Of course, it's the tallest place built by a certain self-important idiot."
"Jarvis, where's the tallest place in New York, and which idiot built it?"
Tony didn't react at all, immediately asking Jarvis to filter this information. But no sooner had Tony finished speaking than he froze, as he suddenly remembered that his newly built Stark Tower was supposedly the tallest building in New York? Then that idiot, wouldn't that be
"Sir, the tallest building in New York is your newly built Stark Tower, and its founder is""
"Shut up! No, mute!"
Jarvis's voice abruptly cut off. If Tony hadn't shouted fast enough, Tony would have been completely humiliated. Of course, even without Jarvis finishing, the others realized what was going on. As Tony looked around, he naturally saw the suppressed smiles.
Especially Noah, Wong, and Constantine, who were laughing unrestrainedly, making Tony's face extremely grim. Tony turned to Loki, and fury immediately rose in his heart, especially with Loki maintaining a full smile, which made Tony feel a surge of malice.
"You son of a b*tch, you put this monstrosity on my
building? You"re practically asking for it!"
Tony had already donned his armor. He was never one with a good temper. If Loki had screwed him over like this and he didn't do something, he wouldn't be Tony Stark. Tony's posture immediately caused a commotion on the Helicarrier. The magical runes on Tony's armor emitted strange energy fluctuations, and the two reactor-like energy bodies on his chest and waist made Thor blink.
It was imaginable that if Tony went berserk on the Helicarrier at this moment, there would only be one outcome: it would be directly blasted into pieces by massive energy fluctuations, and they would all have to bail out, silently watching this strategic weapon that hadn't even entered military service be relegated to the dustbin of history.
"Alright, everyone, stop messing around." Noah rubbed his brow helplessly. These guys truly knew how to cause trouble. Looking up, Noah turned to Loki: "Your plan remains unchanged. Do what you need to do, but I advise you not to trust any Chitauri who approaches you, understand?"
"Of course." Loki nodded honestly. "Since I"ve told you, I"ve naturally made my choice. Don't you trust me enough to let my brother follow me?"
"No need." Noah shook his head, appearing to trust Loki completely, but his next words made Loki's face darken:
"I've left a mark on you, so there's no need for anyone to follow. If you try anything funny, you can imagine your fate."
Loki nodded numbly, then, ignoring Noah, found a quiet spot, sat down, and fell into thought. Noah didn't pay much attention; he had already turned to Fury: "Fury, you probably need to do something too."
Fury nodded: "Evacuate the local citizens of New York?"
"Yes." Talking to smart people was easy, especially since Fury had known him for so many years; there was some understanding between them. Noah patted Fury's shoulder: "Although you can't help much yourselves, you can evacuate the citizens of New York, so you don't have to worry about accidental casualties."
The Battle of New York in the original story seemed to have few casualties, almost as if no one was harmed. But in reality, this surprise attack caused unimaginable casualties, even more than the Sokovia incident that sparked the Avengers" internal conflict. Noah would not accept such a thing happening. Although New York's fate might not be much better than in the original story, at least there would be no casualties, and that was enough.
As for causing immeasurable property damage? Sorry, Noah wouldn't care about that; if they had the guts, they could go ask the British Ministry of Magic for compensation!
"I understand, I:ll do it, but such a large-scale transfer takes time." Fury's face was a bit grim; he felt uncomfortable with Noah's remark about "not being able to help much." However, Fury still said seriously, "You know, I need to negotiate with those guys."
"I know, hurry up. The Tesseract won't wait, and neither will I." Noah nodded, then looked at Tony: "You help out too, no problem, right?"
Tony's anger subsided slightly, and he quickly replied, "I understand, but Noah, you need to keep a close eye on this bastard. Be careful he doesn't trick you. Here's a suggestion: if he does, why not just kill him?"
"Do your own job, pal." Noah grabbed Thor, who had stood up to challenge Tony, and after a casual instruction, pressed Thor back into his seat. Tony, meanwhile, smiled triumphantly at Thor and Loki, then walked out without delay, leaving Thor and Loki sitting there somewhat sullenly.
"Lord Finiel, having Loki go back to guide the aliens in, and Tony and Fury evacuate the Manhattan area of New York, what should we do next?" After Tony had completely left, Captain America, Steve, finally asked.
Noah's approach was clearly to use New York as a
battlefield. Now the battlefield was basically set, but Steve awkwardly realized that they didn't seem to have any soldiers.
"Are you worried we can't deal with them?" Noah saw through Steve's thoughts and smiled dismissively. "No need to worry, pal. The stage is set, so naturally, people need to come on stage."
"So, Lord, your plan is"
"Of course, it's to find mages from various places."
