"I've made it, but the server terminal is too big. You should know that, right?"
Tony glanced at the books on Noah's desk, but his mind had already wandered.
The books looked simple, but the titles were incredibly attractive: History of Magic in the Ancient World, History of Magic in the Modern World, and History of Magic in the Magical Age.
These three books divided the entire magical world into manageable sections, making it easier for people to understand.
The revisions to these books had been quite the undertaking. They were practically masterpieces, created with the joint effort of historians from the magical world.
The thickness of each book was daunting, but these were the best resources for anyone new to the history of magic.
Noah had already read them, since there was a history test in the magician exam.
However, even as the initiator of this exam, Noah himself still didn't know exactly what would be tested. So, he had simply memorized all three books.
"Of course, I know. So why didn't you bring it?" Noah rested his head on his hand, an expression of dissatisfaction on his face.
"Hey, can you tell me what you plan to do with these things?" Tony was puzzled. He couldn't figure out why this magician in front of him would want an artificial intelligence terminal.
Was it that he disliked memorizing books and wanted to dump all that knowledge into a smart terminal? Or maybe the magic test was too difficult and dangerous, and the terminal would simulate it for him?
Damn it, Tony hadn't seen these magics in action and didn't design any functions for the smart terminal to handle them.
"Take a look at this." Noah thought for a moment before casually tossing the phone to Tony. After all, this was Tony's work, so it was fine for him to take a look.
"Wow? You magicians can use mobile phones? A Blackberry?" Tony was momentarily stunned, then took the phone with a curious look.
But the next moment, his smile froze.
The screen on the phone—wasn't this the social software Tony had designed for Noah four years ago?
Looking at the densely packed chat box and the hundreds of unread messages, Tony felt a little numb.
He casually clicked the "space" button and quickly understood how this space functioned.
When he saw the messages in it—one by one—the updates from magicians all over the world, Tony's hands started to shake.
After a long time, he took a deep breath and handed the phone back to Noah. "You shameless guy!"
"?" Noah looked at Tony, puzzled. "Are you scolding me?"
"You've made a lot of money off this software!" Tony said, clearly upset. "I've got no problem with you making money, but why did you change the author's name to yours? Noah Finniel? Damn it, this is my Tony Stark's work!"
"But the magicians don't know you. Who knows where you came from?"
Noah shrugged. He had, indeed, asked Charles to change the software's author to his name.
Tony was already a super-rich guy; it made sense that he didn't care much about the money.
But this guy had a very obvious trait—he liked to show off. He might not care about making money, but he sure couldn't stand the idea of someone else taking credit for his work.
Especially when it came to showing off in front of a group of magicians!
"How shameless!" Tony crossed his arms and pouted. "So, what do you need the artificial intelligence terminal for? To help you manage all this information?"
"That's right."
Noah nodded. He wasn't surprised Tony had figured it out. "Although we claim to support freedom of speech, it's not feasible to let everyone speak their mind freely. Otherwise, who knows what kind of person will say something to confuse and scare others, leading to conflicts between magicians and ordinary people, triggering disastrous consequences."
In simpler terms, it was about controlling public opinion. Some things could be said, but some had to be expressed very carefully, and some simply couldn't be said at all.
Over the years, the magical world had more or less brought all magicians to an equal status.
No matter where they were born, what education they received, or what services the magical world offered, they were basically the same.
But it was undeniable that some people still thought, "I'm from a certain family, I'm pure-blood, and I was born with all kinds of advantages!"
Yes, such people existed, though they were few in number.
But who knows? If one of these people made a controversial statement and it caught the attention of the pure-bloods in a country, and then it spread from one person to ten, ten to a hundred—soon it would cause major problems.
Noah had already witnessed the incident with Voldemort, even if it was just a passing event.
He wasn't here when the British Ministry of Magic was reshuffled, but the lesson had been enough.
Could Noah let something like that happen again?
"Tsk, that's true."
Tony shook his head but understood Noah's approach, though he was a little confused. "I just looked, and it seems to be controlled. Aren't you worried this will lead to many magicians being laid off?"
"Those aren't manual controls, but also smart terminals," Noah said, shaking his head. "Although they work well, as the number of users increases and the radiation area expands, no matter how many servers and smart terminals we add, we can't manage it perfectly. We can only say it's barely stable."
"Is there anyone in your magic world who can make smart terminals?"
"Yes, but they joined the magical world six years ago. You might know them. They're mutants."
"Mutants? Damn it! No wonder there were rumors of mutants being extinct a few years ago. Even if there are still some, they're very few. It turns out they've all entered the magic world?"
"Hmm."
Noah nodded. As Charles and the others performed well in the magical world, the magic ministries of various countries slowly began to stop fighting over them.
They all tried to integrate the mutants into the magical world, and aside from a few places where there were issues, most regions successfully integrated them.
It could be said that mutants had basically secured their place in the future, and their abilities were quite impressive.
With Charles' help, whenever a mutant was born, the Ministry of Magic worldwide would be notified and quietly arrange for them to be integrated into the magical world.
Charles' abilities had been well-known to magicians, which caused some trouble.
For instance, Charles was born in New York. As an American, why did he go to the British Ministry of Magic?
Also, Charles had a good relationship with the Temple. Was there no Temple in New York?
Dumbledore had been talking nonsense with Cole Haug for a long time.
Everyone knew Charles' abilities and contributions to the magical world. Who wouldn't want him in their magical world?
However, the final decision was left to Charles, and he chose to stay with the British Ministry of Magic.
It was a personal decision, and the British Ministry had been the first to invite and help integrate them into the new world. They were not about to be ungrateful.
"Okay, I get it." Tony nodded. "Is it Charles Xavier? I know him. A very powerful biological geneticist. I didn't realize he could make a smart terminal, too."
"A very powerful guy," Noah agreed. "But right now, this thing doesn't seem enough."
"Of course. After all, it wasn't Tony Stark who did it," Tony said, giving a self-satisfied smile. "I can help you with this. I even updated several versions of this social software when I was bored. The software in my hand is several versions higher than yours."
Noah pursed his lips. He updated it when he was bored?
And now his version was several steps ahead of Noah's?
Noah didn't bother asking what had been updated or whether Tony was joking. The guy who had designed this software in under five minutes and fifty seconds, Noah wasn't going to say a word.
"Tell me what your conditions are." Noah saw Tony's expression and knew that this guy had conditions. "But don't push it. At most, I'll use special means like I did four years ago."
"Damn it! Don't bring up four years ago!" Tony clearly wasn't fond of that night in his dark history. He definitely didn't want anyone mentioning it again!
"Okay, let's not talk about that night. Tell me your conditions. If they aren't too unreasonable and I can meet them, I'll agree to it." Noah spread his hands, though he didn't mention that if they were unreasonable, he would resort to the Imperius Curse.
Noah considered himself a good person, but there were good people who were tough, and Noah knew he was one of them.
His heart wasn't evil, and the effect of the Imperius Curse wasn't as potent as a dark wizard's, but it could still control someone, and the curse would be lifted in the end.
"Three questions. First, what the hell is Homeland Security? That name is way too long!"
Tony rubbed his forehead, having trouble remembering the full name of SHIELD. He pointed to Coulson. "What's your connection to this security agency?"
"Their director and I go way back. Thirteen years ago, when aliens invaded, Phil and their director worked with me to solve the problem. You can ask him for details." Noah answered directly.
"Aliens? Damn, are there aliens?" Tony glanced at Coulson, who nodded seriously, leaving Tony speechless. "So, are you magicians the ones protecting Earth?"
"I'll take that as the second question." Noah tilted his head. "You can think of it that way. The world is vast, and Earth isn't the only planet. Aliens aren't exactly benevolent, and as a primitive civilization, Earth can't be invaded without guardians."
"Okay, then the last one." Tony was overwhelmed by all the news and was too tired to care about the lack of a question. "This is a request, not a question. I want to use this social software. I want to know more."
"Of course. Their director uses it, too." Noah smiled. "There's already a Muggle on it, so it doesn't matter if there's one more."
