------------

The wizarding world is vast. Beyond each country's own magical society and Ministry of Magic, there are also countless independent sorcerers who choose to live in seclusion, dedicating themselves to the study of magic.

These hidden magicians are the truly terrifying ones—wielders of unfathomable power, masters of ancient and dangerous spells, who care nothing for the Ministry or its rules.

Most don't even bother with the affairs of their own countries. To them, only magic matters. Some even travel across dimensions or star systems to further their research.

Of course, there are also those who use their power recklessly. Fortunately, such individuals are often dealt with by others in the magical world who seek stability and peace.

Though no formal treaty exists, it's an unspoken agreement understood by all.

So don't be fooled into thinking the magical world is just a small playground with a few players. Even dark wizards like Voldemort could act as they pleased only because those truly powerful mages were either uninterested or unaware of worldly events.

Elemental magic, once revered and widely practiced, has now become exceedingly rare. Despite its might and high status—being the foundation for even more advanced spells—it has nearly vanished.

Why? Because those who have mastered it won't share it freely. And those who haven't? They have no way to learn it.

Noah is lucky. Thanks to the system, he enjoys a unique and ideal learning environment.

Otherwise, he would've had to rely on magical artifacts just to cast advanced spells—a method that, while effective, makes one overly dependent on equipment.

Noah prefers to use his own magic, to cast spells with his own power. That's also what the Ancient One—Master Yao (known as the Ancient One in Kamar-Taj)—wants to see.

That's why she didn't give him a wand or even a Sling Ring. Instead, she expected him to open portals himself, using sheer magical control.

And Noah did manage to do it. But it was highly impractical—each time he opened a portal, he was left completely exhausted, collapsing to the ground and gasping for breath. What if danger struck during those moments?

He might as well just surrender.

After what felt like ages reading through the library in his system's space, Noah finally finished every book he needed to.

With a glance at the massive mental bookshelf, piled high with magical texts, he left that space with satisfaction. But before exiting, he checked his current stats:

Name: Noah Finniel

Age: 13

Mage Rank: Tier 4 — Stage 1

"Tier 1 already? Not bad. Even though leveling up is getting harder, this progress is way beyond what's considered normal. Meditation really works."

Noah's growth was astounding. Most magicians rely on time, talent, or bloodline. But Noah was soaring like a rocket. No wonder others would despair at his progress.

The magical rating system itself is currently resisted by some ministries, who believe it threatens the balance of power. That's why not many know about Noah's ranking.

But not all countries are so hesitant. The highly competitive American Ministry of Magic actually negotiated with Kamar-Taj to adopt the new system.

It's no wonder competition and survival of the fittest are the norm in American magical circles.

The second half of the school year was, as always, more intense—mainly due to final exams.

However, the members of the "Mage Union" weren't worried. If they couldn't even pass the finals, then maybe they should quit.

Angelina, the newest member, was adapting quickly. The young Gryffindor had been welcomed warmly and soon understood why Noah had been so skilled—and merciless—during the Budapest mission.

After all, their base of operations had rigorous and regular training. The Budapest trip had also been her first time earning real money.

She adapted fast. Every day after class, she'd either hit the books or look for a sparring partner.

Life at Hogwarts was peaceful—until Professor Snape shocked the school by returning with... a baby girl.

He claimed the baby was his daughter. But the name he gave her nearly drove Harry Potter insane:

Lily Snape.

How could that name not enrage Harry? He knew what his mother's name was. He had also heard some rumors about Snape, especially from Noah.

But there was nothing Harry could do. A name is just a name—maybe a way to hold onto memories or express regret. And Harry understood that... but still. He was angry.

Fortunately, Harry didn't know the full truth: the girl was created using Lily Evans' genetic material. Technically, she could be considered his sister.

If he ever found out... who knows what he'd do?

As May arrived, life remained calm. Aside from Noah inviting everyone from the Mage Union to celebrate his 14th birthday in March, not much happened.

Just when Noah thought Barty Crouch Jr. was laying low this semester and there'd be no "snake" to catch, Professor Snape pulled him out of History of Magic.

"Hey, Professor, couldn't you see I was in class?" Noah grumbled.

"I saw. But I doubt Professor Binns would notice or care," Snape replied dryly.

"Still, some warning would've been nice. What's this about?"

"We received intel—Crouch Jr. is about to act."

"From who? And what's he planning?"

"He's going to try to abduct Harry. As for the source... you won't believe it. It came from Lucius Malfoy."

Snape laid it all out, and Noah raised an eyebrow in mock surprise. But internally? He was rolling his eyes.

Lucius Malfoy—the ultimate political weather vane.

The only reason he got off the hook after Voldemort's fall was his connections... and his unmatched survival instincts.

Now he must have sensed that the tide was turning again—so he sold out Crouch Jr. without hesitation.

Poor Barty Jr. must've trusted Lucius and relied on him. And now? Every move he made was under Dumbledore's watchful eye.

"It's pathetic," Noah muttered.

"You mean Crouch Jr.? Or all of them?" Snape sneered.

"All of them. Don't you find these pureblood elites disgusting? They hoard power and resources, and then wonder why the magical world is stagnating."

"So what's Albus planning to do about it?"

"Is he going to remove Fudge from office? Groom a new Minister of Magic?"

Noah leaned in curiously. Despite Fudge's antagonism, he had once heavily relied on Dumbledore.

"No," Snape said, shaking his head. "Though that's what Albus wanted, the timing isn't right."

"Wait... don't tell me he's going to run for Minister himself?"

Snape didn't answer—just stared at him seriously.

"You're kidding."

"I'm not. He believes the current magical climate is dangerous. He wants to guide the world himself—and train a successor before retiring."

Noah was stunned. Dumbledore, running for Minister of Magic? That had to be the most shocking news in the entire British magical world.

But... it made sense.

The magical world was in decline. If Dumbledore wanted to steer things back on course, he would need more authority.

And whether people liked it or not—he was the most qualified.

Fudge had only won the previous election because Barty Crouch Sr. was disgraced by his son's crimes, and Dumbledore chose to remain at Hogwarts, trying to make up for past mistakes.

But now? If Dumbledore truly wished to run, there was no one who could stop him.

He had the power, the reputation, the influence—and an army of former students across every sector of the magical world.

If Dumbledore decided to run... he would win.

Without a doubt.
