Chapter 4
When Ethan came to see him and asked him to Thanksgiving dinner, Axel almost thought it was a joke. But then he remembered that Ethan barely joked about things like celebrations.
Ethan barely joked, period.
He'd hesitated, but Ethan reminding him that he was family, and that his mother wasn't around to celebrate with him was enough to make him accept.
He'd planned on spending the entire day either alone at home or by his mother's bedside. It all sounded incredibly sad, but he didn't mind.
He ignored the phone call from a familiar number again as he got dressed.
Then his phone buzzed again and he contemplated blocking the woman.
This was why he didn't like being with women as often as he used to. The older he got, the more they wanted to be in a relationship. Get married and have kids.
He didn't want any of that. And even if he did, it wasn't going to be with women he'd only just met and deemed sexy enough to fuck.
