Chapter 453 - Chapter 452 – Assault on the Pocket Universe, Boarding the Necron Planetary Fortress

Rhodes briefly explained to Aisha the origins of Angel Zog, though Gaia TV never made these origins explicit.

The creators are actually humans from the future.

"Rhodes! Are you saying this Angel Zog was created as a weapon of war by future humanity? But from what era? Was she made a hundred thousand years into the future… or even later?" Aisha asked in amazement.

How fascinating!

Humanity was able to create such a terrifying bioweapon? She's a sub-god-class being! Even though the Emperor created twenty Primarchs, they only possess sub-god-level souls, not true sub-god power.

In fact, except for Magnus, the Primarchs' psychic strength doesn't match their souls at all. The Primarchs' souls are all fragments of humanity's gods from the Warp, and before meeting Rhodes, they were dormant.

Even with all the Emperor's forbidden technology and advanced methods—even with some warp-tech—the most he could do was barely contain those souls in bodies.

Level-four gods like this only arise in the Warp through faith or the power of laws; the real universe can't naturally birth such beings. The C'tan and cosmic beasts are pure energy lifeforms, not truly divine.

Otherwise, the C'tan wouldn't have lost to the Necrons. But the Angel Zog Rhodes summoned has a true sub-god soul and power! If future humanity can create such things, their potential rivals the Old Ones—maybe even surpasses them, since the Eldar the Old Ones made could only give rise to their gods through faith, not direct Warp creation.

"As for these future humans, I can't say for sure. It's only in the lore, and they're not from this universe, but another one entirely," Rhodes shrugged.

The writers at Tsuburaya never clarified it—just a vague, unsolved mystery!

"That's a shame. Do you think humans in this universe could ever create a god-tier bioweapon like this?" Aisha asked.

"It's possible, but only if humanity returns to true scientific research like in the Golden Age—and if the Warp doesn't interfere," Rhodes replied. The main obstacle for humanity is the power of the soul; no matter how advanced human technology gets, it can't create a god-tier soul—only the Warp can provide that.

Even the strongest psykers' souls are nothing compared to the gods. The Emperor is a special case, having been created by ancient shamans using the soul of Ellinill.

"I see! Your subordinate is impressive. Train her well; her potential is immense," Aisha said.

Now that she's in this universe, with such a powerful soul, she'll create a strong projection in the Warp. And since her power is pure light, which Chaos daemons hate, she can draw immense psychic energy in the Warp and stay safe—her abilities are naturally boosted here.

"Of course. I'll have Tartarus teach her how to use psychic power." Rhodes nodded.

Mefilas, thanks to their strong psychic abilities, have powerful souls. So does Tartarus. After coming to the 40k universe, all Rhodes's subordinates have Warp projections, letting them use psychic power—just as Rhodes himself did when he arrived.

Even the most powerful kaiju have soul projections, though their intelligence isn't enough to master psychic powers.

A few days later, Rhodes's fleet arrived at a strange star system—a void filled only with dead silence. This was the lair of Necron Overlord Trazyn the Infinite, or at least an entrance to it.

This Necron overlord caused Rhodes plenty of trouble when he first arrived in this universe, even though they'd never met face-to-face.

Trazyn had repeatedly raided Rhodes's kaiju ork ranch, even capturing two Emperor avatars and a Pedan warship. He'd also captured the Sisters of Battle and Space Wolves Rhodes first encountered, turning them into collectibles. Rhodes did not have a good impression of this guy.

To ensure victory, Rhodes summoned AsanethAyu to serve as his battle advisor.

"Father! If you wish, you could just tear open his pocket universe and broadcast the coordinates—trust me, plenty of other Necron dynasties would come to attack him," AsanethAyu suggested.

After her Ultra Beastification surgery, she'd become a super-lifeform with a lifespan of thousands of years, gaining the power others of her kind could only dream of. She now called Rhodes "father"—her body and soul were created by him, and though she had AsanethAyu's memories, the original woman died 60 million years ago; she was a new soul.

"No need. If other Necron dynasties come, they'll want a share of the spoils after defeating him. I want all of Trazyn's collection for myself," Rhodes said.

Letting other Necrons help would make it easier to take down Trazyn, but then he'd have to fight them for the loot. He hadn't even called in the Ynnari this time, just to keep all of Trazyn's treasures.

"Understood, Father. If that's your decision, I support you. But be careful—this Necron overlord is very powerful. He has all sorts of black-tech: tesseract cubes, time control devices, space manipulation… he can switch bodies at will," AsanethAyu warned.

If you're caught by his tesseract, you're instantly immobilized, even if you're a Primarch-level being.

"That's only because he's never fought me," Rhodes smirked.

"Master, I can clearly sense a pocket universe here. Just give the word and I'll tear it open," Tartarus said, approaching Rhodes, with the Angel Zog in white dress and a mask—at his side, now familiar with Rhodes's domain. She was joining the attack on Trazyn, wielding wormhole and space manipulation powers.

Rhodes smiled, went to the bridge, and activated his mothership's warp-jump to Trazyn's collection vault, targeting a Pedan warship.

Rhodes had already figured out how to get into Trazyn's pocket universe. With Tartarus and Zog's powers—or even his mothership—he could break in.

A flash of light, and Rhodes's massive mothership barged into the pocket universe.

Here was a star system with three suns: one red dwarf, two yellow dwarfs, providing ample light and heat. Around them were scattered planets, and at the center—a green Necron planet-fortress.

This was Trazyn's lair—a planet-sized fortress as big as a Tomb World. Once, a Necron planet-fortress like this invaded the Solar System, devastating the Imperium. Only at great cost was it destroyed.

It's a weapon even more advanced than an Ork Attack Moon. If the Attack Moon is a private car, the Necron planet-fortress is a main battle tank.

Rhodes's mothership looked tiny in comparison. As he jumped near the fortress, it fired a green beam at the Pedan mothership.

"Careful, dodge! That's a time-capture device—if it hits us, time will freeze and we'll be helpless," warned AsanethAyu.

"Hmph!" Zog snorted, spreading her hand to generate a white light-shield that enveloped Rhodes's mothership, blocking the green beam.

Rhodes grinned, then aimed all the ship's main guns at the fortress.

"All Space Marines prepare! Squad-based, bring your teleport bracelets, get ready to board!" Titus shouted, acting as assault commander. With him was Tyberos, leader of the Space Sharks, now over ten thousand strong under Rhodes.

"Ready! Give the order, Great Gene-Father—let's smash those xenos!" Tyberos roared, weapon raised.

"Raaah!"

Rhodes's gene-sons bellowed in excitement.

This time, they'd make their Primarch proud, show the Gene-Father their strength.

"Don't rush—no solo ops yet. Let's greet this Necron overlord first!" Rhodes said, then fired the ship's weapons.

Dozens of Pedanium main guns and hundreds of ray cannons unleashed rainbow beams at the Necron fortress. Its green shield blocked the barrage—this was a Necron energy shield, not a psychic or void shield—a top-tier defense.

The fortress retaliated with Gauss cannons—lethal disintegration beams. No armor can resist them. But Zog's light-shield blocked the beams.

After a fierce bombardment, the shield finally broke. Rhodes ordered his sons to attack.

"For the Gene-Father!" Titus roared, and teleporter lights flared as the Marines landed on the fortress, assaulting Necron units.

Power swords and chainswords roared; Pedanium ray guns blazed. Necron beams struck back but were blocked by energy shields.

Rhodes had prepared well—Pedanium armor was reverse-engineered and added to their power armor. Each Marine now had a shield, and their weapons were Pedanium ray guns—far more powerful than bolters or plasma.
