Guilliman couldn't help but be shocked!
A mostly-dead Dreadnought veteran turned into a steel giant, able to switch forms at will—one form was a 55-meter, 50,000-ton giant, utterly defying physics!
"Excellent! Luksi, welcome back to the Ultramarines. But I want to make sure your body is okay?" Guilliman said anxiously.
"Great Primarch, I welcome any checkup. I'm fine," Luksi replied.
Rhodes got the detailed data from Yapool—the super beast was named Dreadnought Super Beast.
Height: 56m, Weight: 55,000 tons.
Every part could transform into oversized Dreadnought weapons—even chainswords, power swords, hammers, claws, etc. Terrifying in melee, also able to fly and survive in space—flesh inside, steel outside.
"Master, I trimmed some abilities in the conversion—no super beast ray powers, flight removed but kept space survival. In the future, we can tweak colors, add ray abilities and light absorption, and make it unrecognizable," Yapool said.
Since it was made from Bemstar and Golza, it had light absorption, but Yapool had left it out.
This super beast was like an enhanced Dreadnought with terrifying melee—mid-to-high tier strength.
Rhodes nodded, giving Yapool a thumbs-up. Trimming some abilities made it easier to explain as a unique creation; mass production could be passed off as another kind of robot.
"Rhodes, come with me—we need to run some tests and check up on this veteran," Guilliman said, hurrying Rhodes away.
…
Back on the ground, Guilliman summoned Grey Knight Grand Master Voldus and the chapter apothecary to check for warp corruption and genetic integrity.
Voldus used his exorcism powers—confirmed no warp or Chaos taint. If a Chaos daemon were present, the Grey Knights' sacred armor would reveal it—no problem here.
The apothecary took blood and hair samples—confirmed pure human genes.
The newly-restored veteran was a bit nervous, but when told the results, he relaxed.
"Don't worry, Lord Guilliman, Lord Rhodes—this warrior is perfectly healthy, a true human body," Voldus said.
He'd been called suddenly, not knowing why Guilliman was so anxious. But the restored veteran was fine—no Chaos, all human.
Rhodes smirked—if you could detect Yapool's tech, it'd be a miracle. Yapool's fusion tech completely defied physical science.
He could turn violins and mummies into super beasts—turned into a human, it's human; turned into a beast, it's a beast.
Guilliman finally relaxed after the Grey Knight and apothecary confirmed the results.
"Grand Master, thank you for your trouble today," Guilliman said.
Voldus nodded, bowed, and left.
As long as there's no Chaos daemon, he doesn't care about other secrets.
The apothecary bowed too and departed.
"Sorry, Luksi—I had to check for your good," Guilliman said.
"Lord Guilliman, I am loyal to the Imperium," Luksi replied.
Being cautious was good—even he felt what happened was miraculous.
"Luksi, go report to Chapter Master Calgar. Tell him you were rebuilt, and now look like a Primaris Marine. Stay like this unless I order otherwise. If you must fight in giant form, do it where no one can see. Don't talk to anyone in that form—keep it strictly secret," Guilliman said.
"I understand, Great Primarch! Without your orders, I'll never fight in that form—even if it costs my life," Luksi pledged.
Now he could rejoin his brothers; if he turned into a giant, it'd be too shocking.
It defied science and conservation of energy—what had happened to him?
"If your brothers are in crisis, or you are, you can transform. It's not evil—I just worry the chapter can't accept it yet," Guilliman said.
"What happened to you is the Emperor's miracle—just believe that. Even among the Grey Knights, one has a similar blessing—he becomes an avatar of the Emperor. You just become a Dreadnought—no difference," Rhodes said.
Just treat it as a transformation ability—giantification will be common in the future: Horus can, Elena can, even myself, and Mefilas' special powers too. Turning into a giant Dreadnought isn't impossible.
Luksi nodded, bowed, and left.
"Forgive my caution, Rhodes!" Guilliman apologized first.
"You didn't think I used warp powers, did you?" Rhodes rolled his eyes.
"Rhodes, you know how insidious Chaos is. Just a few days ago, I received an attack from my traitor brother—a laurel crown that dragged me into a powerful illusion.
I led mankind on a Great Crusade, doing even greater deeds than my father, becoming Lord of Humanity. I barely escaped the illusion and killed the Chaos demon masquerading as a planetary governor.
I was worried your scientist might have been corrupted by Chaos. But now I see I was overthinking it," Guilliman said.
No wonder he was so anxious—he'd just had a close call with Chaos.
Rhodes nodded—so that's what had him so tense.
"Rhodes, I don't care where your tech comes from—so long as it serves humanity," Guilliman said.
"I am human, and this technology will serve humanity—rest assured," Rhodes replied.
Rhodes' tech wasn't from the Dark Age or Golden Age of Humanity!
He could fool normal humans, but not Primarch Guilliman.
It wasn't human tech—humans couldn't do this. The warp could, but only with a Chaos god's direct intervention.
But the veteran had no Chaos taint—Guilliman could finally relax.
Fulgrim's sudden attack had left Guilliman on edge—he'd nearly been corrupted by Chaos.
Recently, all four Chaos gods' followers had been making moves: Khorne's wanted his blood (80 Imperial worlds destroyed), Nurgle was brewing a plague just for him (already spreading in Ultramar), Slaanesh's followers pledged allegiance, and Tzeentch was plotting too—enough to keep him worried.
"This tech is just too miraculous—I worry it won't be accepted by others."
"Giantification is a special ability—soon one of my subordinates will arrive. Then you can try it too—become a 50-meter giant," Rhodes said.
"You—you mean I can become a giant too?" Guilliman was shocked.
"Of course you can."
