What he saw made him pause. The ancestral beast, moments ago a towering force of destruction, was now using its immense power to heal the injured citizens. Everywhere, elves who had been on the brink of despair were now cheering and praising the creature.
'That's what's making her happy?' Kieran thought, still finding it odd that the attack on her brother didn't seem to trouble her.
"Let's keep moving. You said you didn't have much time," Mira's voice broke through his thoughts, steady and unexpectedly calm.
Kieran turned to her. He wanted to ask why she looked almost relieved instead of shaken, but he kept his question to himself.
Almost as if reading his mind, Henry spoke up. "Why do you look so calm all of a sudden? Shouldn't you be worried about your brother?"
