Moli didn't speak for a moment. Her breath was still catching, but her eyes searched his face for something, weakness, amusement, permission.
She found none, she sighed, not expecting this to have happened.
Boran released her throat and stepped back.
She let her feet settle on the ground, her spine still pressed against the wall. Her fingers slowly rubbed her neck where his grip had left heat behind.
"I didn't disobey you.." she said quietly, a touch of defiance in her voice.
"You were about to.." he replied. "And that's when I remind you who gives the orders."
She looked down for a beat, then lifted her chin again with that lazy, sugar-sweet smile. "Well. Now that I've been scolded…"
He walked past her without a glance, his presence brushing her shoulder like a cold gust.
The door to their room creaked open. The walls inside were bare, the bed neatly made, the lighting dim. Moli shut the door behind them and leaned back against it.
