Qingran said, she had calmly accepted her fate that day and closed the door back without protest.

"It was just hope, hope that you'll have a change of heart and save me too." the nurse whispered, her hands moving to check the IV drip next.
"And truly..I got lucky.."
There was silence for a moment. Only the quiet sounds of medical equipment and the rhythm of Qingran's breathing.
She adjusted the sheets around her gently, tucking them with care.
"I couldn't find it in myself to leave you back there." Qingran mummured, if though she wanted too.
"I'm glad you didn't. At least I get to repay the favor and take care of you."
The nurse smiled faintly, the kind of smile that carried weight it wasn't bright, but it was steady. "That's more than enough for me."
