Chapter 18 - Ranx the moving planet

They began to modify the solar tower as time passed, since the tower had an issue with absorption not hardware damage, this allowed them to modify it from inside the Watchtower only.

The circuitry modification allowed them to calibrate the photonic filtration system, tricking it into accepting the K-Reactor's unique energy signature.

"Cy, are you sure this is gonna work?"Batwing whispered as he finished assembling the remaining circuitry, he then paused as he added:

"As you said, the kid picked up these fields of expertise not long ago so he might not be up to par wi.."

"I can hear you!, it's called super hearing for a reason!"

Jayden's voice came from above catching Lucas off guard, he almost forgot Jayden was assembling the tower's core from above.

"Come on Luke, the kid has talent, his intelligence alone places him in the top 20 of the smartest people of Earth, the same people who can compete with some of the best minds in the milky way galaxy

His brain isn't just learning; it's evolving. He's going to keep getting smarter, faster."

Cyborg frowned as he finished talking and that caught Luke's attention.

"Any problem?"

"Yeah, I worry about this, Clark didn't fully embrace his intelligence and that's what makes him connect with humanity...I feel like Jayden is embracing the Kryptonian side more than his human side...

Kryptonians are often shaped by arrogance, xenophobia, and a belief in their own advanced nature."

"I can still hear you!" Jayden yelled as he landed on the ground, he then approached Cyborg and took the K-Reactor.

"I am not condoning that behaviour, but it's not arrogance if they're right, think about it the average iq of an earthling is 100 and Einstein had 160-190 IQ level and that is the average IQ level for average kryptonians under the red sun

This multiplies greatly under the yellow sun, so them viewing other creatures as barbaric is acceptable but not justified"

He then took a leap and landed near the solar tower core, he slowly placed the reactor inside and activated it.

"Wait a minute that doesn't make sense?" Duke who was silently absorbing darkness caught everyone off guard, he simply continued as he said:

"If someone keeps getting smarter and smarter… doesn't that mean they start feeling less?

Like, when your intelligence surpasses emotion, doesn't everything emotional start to feel illogical...almost numb?"

Cyborg simply touched his heart as heard Duke, it felt as if he touched an open wound.

"I guess?"Jayden paused for a brief moment as he searched for an answer, the more he thought about it, the more he realised he couldn't relate.

"Getting smarter doesn't make me feel less, it makes me feel more clearly.

For those who enhance their intelligence artificially, emotions might become a burden.

But I was born Kryptonian, My emotions and intellect were designed to grow together from the start.

When my IQ expands, my emotional capacity expands with it. I don't lose feelings , I understand them better."

"So that's why you have zero game!" Cyborg exclaimed loudly as he put the pieces together, seeing Jayden's confusion he began to explain to the surrounding crowd.

"I saw him flirting with Raven in the lab...the boy has zero game, I wanted to die there and then!"

They snickered as they gave Jayden a side eye.

"Hahaha~ funny, My game may be zero but I still get laid, I have my looks to compensate for where I am lacking... What about you guys? "

The atmosphere was filled with nothing but silence, the quietness was disrupted as the central console began to beep.

"Cy, can you please bring up the hologram of energy data stats, I want to activate the power annex and reduce the conversion rate"

Cyborg approached the central console and began to direct power from the solar tower to the power annex, he then swiped across the console and 3D projection of the K-Reactor's rose in the air.

Jayden analysed the data and nodded in satisfaction, the adaptability of the Reactor to a completely new system impressed him.

He then began to channel some power to the stellar scope and long range scanners as he tried to analyse their environment.

' interesting, the K-Reactor also increased the computing power of the Watchtower, the Sapience code for [Project Ascension] should be dormant within the reactor... does the matrix of the Sapience code have a passive effect?'

Jayden was snapped out of his thoughts as he heard a beep, he began to access the stellar map created by the Long range scanner and stellar scope.

"Okay... this is bad, really bad"

Jayden's panic alerted everyone present, seeing their reactions he enlarged the stellar map and showed them the issue.

Duke was confused at what he was looking at but Cyborg and Lucas felt their spines shiver.

"This... cannot be? how can we be so far from the milky way galaxy! we're in a far away dying galaxy, even if if we travel at the speed of light it will take us billions or trillions of years...to get back"

They continued to analyse the data of the stellar map but they noticed something odd, something was traveling through galaxies in a straight line and it was heading towards them.

"Its speed is not consistent, even an FTL drive can't move that fast without a hyperdrive to back it up... what is it?"

They began to analyse the database and realised that the moving object was Ranx, a sentient yellow lantern city.

"But it can't be Ranx?" Cyborg murmured as he continued to analyse the data, he then added.

"Everything about it is similar to Mogo, it's not a city but a planet that is approaching us through wormholes

The reason it's speed is not consistent is because it's jumping through space and time while consuming too much energy...so it rests to charge its battery... this thing is no longer a city it's a goddamn planet!"

Based on the gravitational distortion, hyperspace drag, and momentum readings, they concluded the object had evolved into a planet, larger than Saturn but smaller than Jupiter.

Its mass affected local space-time with each jump, confirming it wasn't just traveling it was bending hyperspace itself.

Yet despite all scans, they couldn't detect life, cities, or signals.

Whatever was inside that planet was completely hidden.

"This... this is obviously a trap set for us, what the hell is going on?"

"What are we going to do?" Cyborg asked everyone present for their opinions, he couldn't make a decision concerning the lives of everyone present alone.

"We can't run, our adversary literally bends space and time to move!" Jayden began to speak as he gave his opinion to the group, he continued as he said:

"We don't know what we are dealing with and how far it's willing to go...to deal with us, we need to be smart about this.

The planets in its path were not destroyed so that's a good sign, we need to hold a meeting with the others and discuss it

This might be a war...so we should be wise with our approach"
