The "Terrorists" was Jinghang's name for this batch of alloy puppets, inspired by the Cuban faction's unit in Red Alert. While slightly less powerful than Libya's suicide trucks, they were much cheaper at 200 credits each and became a favorite among Soviet faction players. Some masters even developed an unconventional "infinite bombing" strategy that was truly difficult to counter. (The author once had a classmate who was absolutely deadly with this tactic.)
Unfortunately, time was tight. No matter how powerful Sunagakure's industrial capacity was, they couldn't mass-produce so many alloy puppets meeting Jinghang's specifications on short notice. Not only did they need to perform hand seals, but they also had to withstand the power of Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags while maintaining decent speed.
Sasori proposed a bold idea: dismantle the puppets from Sunagakure's outer Arhat Puppet Formation, modify them slightly, and they'd perfectly meet the tactical requirements.
The Arhat puppets were cast from durable mountain copper alloy—tough material, fast speed. With just some adjustments to their internal gear mechanisms, they could perform hand seals.
Jinghang slapped his thigh. Brilliant idea! But could they really modify so many puppets in time?
Sasori guaranteed with absolute certainty that it could be done—as long as his godfather assigned all the field army's warships to his use.
Jinghang immediately approved. No problem!
The final results left Jinghang stunned.
This kid Sasori wasn't just a mechanical engineering genius—he was a logistics genius too!
According to regulations, a Sunagakure regular army regiment had 400 personnel and was typically equipped with four warships. A division had forty ships. After reorganization into a field army, they had 121 new-model warships. The journey from Lishi Fortress to Sunagakure took two days, making it four days round trip.
On the way to Sunagakure, Sasori concentrated 100 puppet masters onto one warship. Except for eating, drinking, and sleeping, they spent every moment doing one thing—studying.
The curriculum had no theory, just pure practical skills: how to dismantle Arhat puppets, how to modify them, which parts to remove, which gears to install. Step by step, they memorized everything by rote.
Upon reaching Sunagakure, they immediately began dismantling. Each warship carried 30 Arhat puppets with one person assigned per ship. The requirement was to complete all modifications during the return journey! The remaining twenty warships stripped out all unnecessary equipment from their holds and decks to make space for storing flying puppet scrolls.
(Flying puppets were about the size of small helicopters, requiring fairly large scrolls.)
The last ship was used by Sasori to completely dismantle the village's backup puppet control center equipment, seal everything in scrolls, and pack it all aboard.
Two days later, when the warship fleet returned to Lishi Fortress, 6,000 fully modified Arhat puppets, 3,000 flying puppets, and a shipload of control equipment were lined up before Jinghang.
Over the next three days, Sasori led 100 puppet masters working day and night to establish a temporary control center, completing the final piece of the bombing plan.
Jinghang couldn't help but marvel—genius was truly genius. With proper cultivation, this kid Sasori could succeed Rasa in the future.
(Most wooden puppets were stored in scrolls and didn't take up much space. The alloy puppets weren't sealed in scrolls because they needed modification.)
"Hah!"
Hiruzen Sarutobi shouted loudly, his Adamantine Staff suddenly extending and sending a wooden puppet flying far away.
Boom!
An explosion echoed.
Hiruzen breathed a sigh of relief—this should be the last one. His chakra was now more than half depleted, and his arms ached from the strain. Looking around, the Konoha camp was in complete ruins. The outer defensive works had been entirely destroyed. Scattered throughout the camp were still-burning "limbs" of wooden puppets mixed with the actual severed limbs of Konoha ninja. The losses were clearly substantial.
After a full day of fierce battle, everyone's chakra and stamina were already severely depleted. Now, after Sunagakure's puppet assault at night, they were utterly exhausted. The surviving Konoha ninja were all in terrible shape, with the weakest collapsed on the ground. Even elite jōnin like Minato Namikaze and Chōza Akimichi were breathing heavily.
"Are we clear?"
Hiruzen asked.
"Should be. There are no more active puppets."
Minato replied.
"Prepare to retreat. The Sunagakure army should arrive soon. We can't hold this position. We'll establish a second defensive line in the Land of Rivers..."
Before he could finish, Hiruzen's expression changed drastically.
A synchronized metallic grinding sound approached.
It sounded very close!
"Searchlights! Quick! Searchlights!"
Hiruzen roared desperately.
Several beams swept forward, and a blinding golden glare made it impossible to keep their eyes open.
Will this never end?!
This was the collective sentiment of the Konoha ninja.
"Damn it!"
Hiruzen flew into a rage, grabbing his Adamantine Staff and sweeping at the puppets!
However, these puppets were clearly different from the previous wooden ones—they actually knew how to dodge, crouch, and drop prone!
Even more infuriating, Hiruzen's staff strike was actually blocked by several Arhat puppets.
Clang!
A crisp metallic collision rang through the sky.
The violent vibration made Hiruzen's hands throb with pain.
"Partial Expansion Jutsu!"
Chōza Akimichi once again became a giant, wielding his iron staff as he charged forward.
"Hiruzen! The kids can't hold out—you all need to retreat!"
Chōza bellowed, his swinging staff sending a wave of Arhat puppets flying.
However, such massive strikes seemed to cause no real damage to the Arhat puppets. The fallen puppets rolled back to their feet and charged at Chōza.
"They seem to be forming hand seals? Oh no! Lord Chōza..."
Before the words finished, a series of explosions erupted. Chōza's legs were instantly blown to bloody pulp.
Boom!
Chōza's mountain-sized body crashed to the ground.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Another series of explosions!
"This... this is sensei's Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags Technique! How is this possible?"
Hiruzen fell into brief confusion, then suddenly snapped alert!
"Retreat! Retreat! Retreat! If we're late, there'll be nothing left!"
Sturdy bodies, flexible control, plus Tobirama-sensei's Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags Technique.
Hiruzen was momentarily... stumped.
Jinghang was too vicious—he was trying to literally bury them in money!
Just as the Konoha ninja prepared to flee—
Suddenly, a chaotic noise came from the sky.
This sound was actually coming from behind the main camp!
It was like countless rapidly spinning propellers whirling through the air!
What the hell?!
Hiruzen suddenly stopped in his tracks.
Just then, a searchlight happened to illuminate the sky above.
Looking up, the Konoha ninja were instantly terrified. Countless strange egg-shaped objects with spinning rotors were diving straight toward them.
