Chapter 45 - Chapter 37-1 Necromancer (3)

The students of Unio Academy finally had to face hundreds of undead summoned by the Necromancer.

The numbers they faced were far greater than the Necromancer's summoning limit.

Usually, they could only summon dozens to over 60.

But something was odd. The numbers they faced were far greater.

Even beyond their summoning limit.

Magical light flashed continuously, piercing the fog in a barrage of red, blue, and gold flashes. Explosions, booms, and the screams of the dead echoed incessantly.

The weakness of these Undead was undoubtedly their heads. Once their heads were destroyed, they could no longer move.

All the students at Unio knew this, so they exploited this weakness to reduce their numbers.

However, instead of decreasing, these undead only increased. If one dies, two will rise in its place.

Edward: "Damn! Their numbers... this is ridiculous!" he exclaimed, gasping for breath as he balanced his defensive and offensive magic.

Louisa, on the other hand, unleashed a massive fireball that exploded into the crowd of Undead.

BOOM!

The explosion shook the ground and destroyed dozens of creatures, but even before the smoke cleared, new shadows began to rise from the rubble and dust.

Maria: "No way! They keep rising!"

Their current composition was at a disadvantage, as most of them were Arcane, specializing in magical combat rather than melee combat.

So when a single Undead approached them, they would be overwhelmed due to their lack of experience in close combat.

Luckily, they had Ken, who was experienced in close combat, but it still wasn't enough.

Ken, at the forefront, continued to swing his claw magic, trying to grind these undead into pieces. But the more he cut down, the more undead substitutes appeared.

Ken: "What the hell... Usually, the summoning limit is only a few dozen! How come there are so many now?!"

Morian: "Most likely, the Necromancer has the help of an Undead Summoner or something that allows him to control hundreds of these undead," he said, casting lightning magic at the other undead with his staff.

This was no coincidence, as Morian himself had read about it in a journal in the Magic Tower.

Historically, Necromancers who have the help of Undead Summoners can summon more undead than a single Necromancer.

Thanks to the help of these Undead Summoners, who act as the Necromancer's minions, the Necromancer can control hundreds or even thousands of undead without being burdened by their mana consumption.

The only way to stop this horde of Undead is to defeat the Undead Summoners, who act as the Necromancer's minions.

This would mean the Necromancer would lose most of his forces.

Meanwhile, Mella, who was focused on attacking the approaching undead, began to relay news to them.

Mella: "I've sent a signal to Unio Academy! Help is on its way!" she said quickly.

Mella: "We have to hold out at least ten more minutes!"

Then Edward began to protest.

Edward: "Ten more minutes?! We're not even sure we can last three minutes like this!"

Louisa glared at him as she swung her wand at another undead creature.

Louisa: "Then stop complaining and fight! We have no other choice!"

The sound of magic echoed again. Pillars of fire, hail, and flashes of lightning filled the night sky. But their strength was fading. Each spell they cast made their bodies weaker, their breathing heavier. Their mana was almost depleted.

The exhausted Maria briefly lost focus. A mossy undead creature leaped from the left side, its jaws gaping with black blood.

Undead: "Raaargh!"

Maria: "Kyaaaa!"

Maria screamed, but before the creature's claws could reach her face, a large ice spike struck the Undead, crushing it.

Luna: "Focus, Maria!" It was Luna who saved her.

She began to gulp and nod.

Maria: "Thank you... I'll be careful!"

But soon, something caught Benny's attention, as he was casting his attack magic. He saw an Undead that was different from the others.

It moved faster, like an animal, with metal objects flashing strangely on its body. Benny's face immediately turned pale.

Benny: "That's no ordinary Undead. That's a Suicide Undead!"

A variant of Undead that can explode itself.

Sternly, Benny shouted, urging everyone to use defensive magic immediately.

Benny: "Quick! Create a barrier now!!"

But it was too late.

*BOOOOOOM!!!*

A massive explosion rocked the area. A blinding red light exploded like a shooting star in the middle of the cemetery, shattering the gravestones and creating a shockwave that knocked them all over. Dust and rocks flew, metallic sounds, and screams mingled.

Everything was blown away by the Suicide Undead's explosion.

The world fell silent.

Only the sound of the wind and distant thunder remained.

Louisa slowly opened her eyes. Her vision was blurry, her ears ringing. She tried to get up, even though her body was covered in wounds and ash.

Louisa: "Tch... no... it's not over yet..." she muttered under her breath. She looked around.

Most of her comrades were still lying there, some unconscious.

A shadow moved in front of her. The remaining undead stumbled, carrying a rusty shovel, raising it high to strike Louisa, who was barely standing. Louisa closed her eyes, unable to raise her hand.

Louisa refused to let herself end up here.

She still had things she had to do.

Namely, to become a Queen like her older sister, Theresa, and defeat her second brother, James, who was seeking the throne.

However... the swing that was supposed to end Louisa never arrived.

Louisa: "Eh?"

As Louisa glanced over, the Undead suddenly began to fall, followed by the others.

Although some had fallen, some still rose and began to attack them.

However...

SHUNK!

The Undead's head exploded, fragments flying.

Then a soft whistling sound was heard through the mist.

WHIIIZZ!

One by one, the other Undead began to fall.

Some were shot by magical arrows, others were split by fast-moving, glowing crystal blades. In an instant, the remaining Undead fell like dominoes.

Louisa stared in the direction of the attack, her eyes wide. Two figures emerged from a gap in the fog.

Lucius and Wim, both wearing glasses.

Louisa didn't deny that she would be rescued by these two strange people, especially Wim, whom she considered even stranger than Lucius.

Wim looked at them lying on the ground and smiled faintly, jokingly.

Wim: "How did you sleep? Did you sleep well?"

Louisa, still half-conscious, grunted softly as she tried to stand.

Louisa: "...You're late."

...

After Wim and Lucius's assistance, they were all now resting.

Several students from Unio Academy were still sitting on the rubble of the shattered tombstone, trying to catch their breath and replenish their mana after the long battle against the undead army.

Benny: "So... did you manage to defeat that Undead Summoner?" he asked Wim and Lucius.

Benny asked this because he hadn't seen any more Undead heading their way. Thinking that the Necromancer would need to recharge his mana to launch a large-scale attack, they were surprised.

However, Wim and Lucius nodded in response, leaving some of the people there slightly shocked and incredulous.

"Really!"

"That's impossible!"

That was their reaction.

However, Luna, unlike the others, began to question Wim. How could they defeat the Undead Summoner?

Considering their current level was significantly lower than the Undead Summoner's?

As usual, Wim smiled slightly, his face relaxed, as if what they were facing was just a normal training exercise.

Wim: "Simple."

Then, he pointed his thumb.

Wim: "Just crush him with a large stone pillar."

Luna looked at him with a mixed expression of confusion and disappointment at the answer she received.

But this wasn't the time for jokes; they had to get out of here.

Then one of Dralan's students began to ask them questions.

"So, what's your plan this time?"

Wim: "Well... Actually, he (Lucius) and I have already checked several areas of this cemetery, and they've all been enchanted with mist barriers. So running away is useless."

Ken: "Tch!"

Wim: "Fortunately, there's still one way we can go."

Morian: "And what is that?"

Then Wim began to answer with the expression of a small child. Innocent

Wim: "Just kill the Necromancer, what's so hard about it?"

Silence...

Everyone: "WHAT!!!!"

They were all stunned and shocked by Wim's idea.

Mella: "You realize, junior, that's a crazy idea? We haven't even recovered from the previous fight."

Benny: "You should know that the Necromancer's power is at Grade 5, it's impossible for us to defeat him."

Wim: "I know it's crazy. But if we don't do it, the barrier won't disappear. We'll be trapped here forever... or until he finds us first."

Then he began to continue, trying to give them a little hope.

Wim: "I asked Art to scout, and he managed to find the Necromancer. He's not far from here."

Thanks to Wim's Glass Art feature, he was able to pinpoint the Necromancer's location.

Necromancers in Victory Shard differ from typical Necromancers, who always wear tattered, wrinkled robes.

Here, they wear clothes that blend in with their disguises, and carry a staff that turns out to be a magic wand modified to look like a regular wand.

Wim himself has fought this boss in the game. As far as he can remember, the Necromancer summons several Undead hordes as his main force.

Although Undead, the Necromancer can actually enhance his Undead to become stronger, but this consumes a lot of mana.

The basic strategy for players is to have Lucius face the Necromancer, considering that Lucius plays a crucial role in this episode.

Wim: "That way, I can rest a bit while waiting for Lucius to defeat him." "That Necromancer," he thought with a smile that seemed to be taking advantage of the moment.

Then Morian began to ask.

Morian: "Is there a chance we can defeat him?"

Wim: "Yes, we can."

Morian: "How?"

Wim: "That..."

This was the most difficult part for Wim to answer. Despite Wim's conviction, they definitely wouldn't jump into an uncertain battlefield and risk their lives.

The atmosphere immediately turned silent. No one spoke. They knew it would be a life-and-death battle.

But then...

Lucius: "That's possible."

This voice came from Lucius, who truly believed in Wim's idea.

Benny: "But, can we defeat the Necromancer with the little experience we have?"

Louisa: "No, we probably can't defeat him using conventional methods. We have to defeat him using other methods, using tactics the Necromancer has never seen before."

Surprisingly, Louisa agreed with Wim's idea.

Louisa: "If we just wait here, we'll all die slowly. It's better to fight than to be chased like a game of cat and mouse."

Who knows what possessed this princess to agree with Wim's idea?

Hearing these two important figures agree, the other students began to rise one by one. Their faces were still filled with doubt, but a hint of determination was also beginning to emerge. Wim looked at them all and smiled slightly.

Benny: "Wow... I don't know what you juniors believe, but there's no way for us to get out on our own, so we'd better work together."

Ken: "Haha, I've loved fighting from the start."

Edward: "This isn't for fun, Ken!"

Wim: "Okay, then... let's kick that Necromancer's ass."

...

Meanwhile, far to the west of the cemetery, inside the ruins of an old mausoleum filled with black candles and forbidden symbols, an elderly man dressed like an aristocrat sat, trying to replenish his mana through meditation.

The Necromancer was named Heutsz, a member of The Hive on a mission.

His face looked tense this time, as if something was wrong.

Necromancer Heutsz: "No way, my Undead Summoner was defeated."

Thanks to the Necromancer's ability to share vision with the Undead, he could see the Unio students being knocked unconscious by a bomb from one of his Undead.

However, his vision suddenly blurred. It was no longer possible to find them, hear their voices, or observe their situation. Heutsz suddenly realized this.

The Undead Summoner he had hidden had been defeated.

Heutsz knew it was impossible for the Unio students to find the Undead Summoner. He had also calculated a strategic and safe location so his Undead wouldn't be discovered, but in the end, he was still discovered.

He couldn't continue like this, because he had a mission of his own.

He was given a mission by Crane, who had infiltrated Unio Academy as the headmaster there, to take care of several S-class students there.

The plan was to capture Unio students with potential in their magical powers, such as the Princess of the Helible Kingdom, Louisa Von Teuer, the Heir to the Magic Tower, Morian Smith, and the Prince of the Cryztolia Kingdom, Lucius Cryztolia.

However, the plan had failed, and now he had to rack his brains again to continue this mission

Necromancer Heutsz: "Luckily I brought my Mana Vessel. This way, the number of students is a problem." "My undead can be overcome."

A Mana Vessel, a container that can store a certain amount of magical energy, or Mana. Heutsz has been storing a significant amount of mana in this Mana Vessel for six years, allowing him to use it to create stronger Undead.

FWOOOSH!

Necromancer Heutsz: "Eh?"

BOOOM!

A giant fireball struck Heutsz, exploding in various areas.

Fortunately, Heutsz had created a barrier of bones to protect him from the attack.

Necromancer Heutsz: "Cough... Cough... Cough... There's no way they can know my location!" he shouted clearly.

He had tried to find a hidden place where he wouldn't be found.

But that was wrong.

The Unio students had already discovered his location, and it was impossible for him to escape.

He had to face these students.

Necromancer Heutsz: "Damn you all, UNIO!!!" he shouted, tapping the ground with his staff, conjuring his Undead magic.
