Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 12: THE LONEDEMON

Asher fought the behemoth with all his might, determined to emerge victorious. The battle was intense, with both combatants exchanging blows and neither gaining the upper hand. But Asher's determination and strength eventually paid off, and he struck the final blow that defeated the behemoth.

Asher then de transformed from his demon form, and he was back to his normal form

Mochi, the cute monster, appeared beside Asher, a wide smile on its face. "Congratulations, human!" it said. "You have passed the test!"

Mochi's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "By the way, what is your name?" it asked.

Asher's system suddenly beeped, advising him that it would be wise not to use his original name. Asher thought for a moment, and then a name came to him. He would use a name related to the color 'purple', but instead, he chose a name that sounded stronger. He would be known as...Lonedemon.

"I am...Lonedemon," Asher said, trying out the name.

Mochi's smile faltered for a moment, and it looked at Asher with a puzzled expression. "It is quite a strange name," it said. "But I suppose it suits you."

Before Mochi could say anything else, a list of names suddenly appeared in the sky, visible to everyone. The list showed the people who had done well in the test, ranked in order of their performance.

And at the very top of the list was Lonedemon, Asher's new name. The list was updated in real-time, showing the points beside each name. The points indicated how many monsters they had killed during the test.

Mochi's face appeared beside the list, its smile back in place. "Congratulations, Lonedemon, on becoming the number 1!" it said. "You have proven yourself to be the strongest among your peers."

Mochi's expression turned serious. "From now on, the number 1 will be known as the King. You will have the power to lead and protect your fellow humans."

The list in the sky updated again, showing the rankings and points of all the participants. Asher's points were the highest, indicating that he had killed the most monsters.

Mochi's face appeared again. "You have 24 hours to rest and recover. After that, the next test will begin immediately. Be prepared!"

The list in the sky disappeared, leaving Asher and the other humans to ponder their next move. Asher looked around, seeing the mix of emotions on the faces of his fellow humans. Some looked determined, while others looked scared.

Asher spent his 24 hours looking for familiar faces. As he walked through the desolate streets, he scanned the crowds for anyone he recognized. And then, he saw them - some of his classmates from school.

At first, they seemed hesitant to approach him. Some of them even turned and walked away when they saw him. Asher wasn't surprised - he had changed a lot since the last time they saw him.

But to his surprise, two people stayed. One was Emily, Stephen's girlfriend, and the other was a quiet guy from his class named Jake. Jake was always silent in class, and Asher had never really talked to him before.

Asher wasn't worried about those who left - he was just happy that someone still stayed. He greeted Emily and Jake warmly, and they greeted him back with smiles.

Emily was completely free with him, chatting and laughing like they had known each other for years. Jake, on the other hand, was quiet and gentle, but Asher could tell that he was happy to see him.

As they walked together, they discussed everything that had happened since the test started. But Asher was careful not to reveal too much about himself. He didn't want to draw attention to his strength and abilities, so he kept his battle with the behemoth a secret.

"I'm just glad we made it this far," Asher said, trying to sound nonchalant. "I don't know what's going to happen next, but I'm just taking things one step at a time."

Emily and Jake nodded in agreement, and the conversation continued. Asher was relieved that they didn't press him for more information. He knew that keeping his strength a secret was the best option, at least for now.

As the sun began to set, they found a place to stay. They settled on an abandoned hotel, which seemed sturdy enough to provide them with shelter for the night.

As they explored the hotel, Asher realized that it was surprisingly clean and well-maintained. They found a few rooms that were still furnished, and they decided to stay there for the night.

As they settled in, Asher felt a sense of gratitude towards Emily and Jake. They had stayed with him when others had left, and he appreciated their loyalty.

As they drifted off to sleep, Asher knew that he would do everything in his power to protect them. They were his friends now, and he would fight to keep them safe. But he also knew that he had to keep his strength a secret, at least for now.

Asher knew that he had a long journey ahead of him. He would have to lead and protect his fellow humans, while also facing the challenges that lay ahead. But he was ready. He was Lonedemon, the King.

With a newfound sense of determination, Asher walked away from the scene of the battle, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
