Jace stepped back just in time as large chunks of the roof fell apart. He then stopped and caught himself as he almost fell through a broken part of the roof that he had landed on. He was on the edge of the broken area that he had seen earlier when they were flying up in the transport.
Now that he had found himself a stable spot to land he turned his attention back to the railgun. It was no longer a deep red shade and had instead cooled off significantly. But he could still see a slight orange glow in some of the thinner metal parts of the railgun.
"We still have another missile following us!" The pilot yelled through the communication channel but it was choppy as he spoke. Jace looked up to see the transport was rocketing toward the sky on a direct course for the Venture which was visible. The missile was trailing a line of red that was slowly transitioning into a blue color. It was a minute and a half away from impact from his estimate.
