Chapter 82 - Chapter 82: Battle of Glory

"You're so ignorant! I can't even be bothered to argue with you!" The Blue Star residents rolled their eyes at the Twilight Forest residents, unwilling to waste any more words.

After all, Lin Fan was currently in the middle of a fierce battle with Curtis, and their attention was mostly focused on the fight.

Previously, they had been willing to lead the Twilight Forest residents to Lin Fan because they were confident that these people were no match for him.

Even if they brought them here, they had never worried about Lin Fan's safety.

But now, things were different.

Curtis was even stronger than the Hydra in the Nine-Story Monster Tower. Even though Lin Fan always seemed calm and composed, they couldn't help but worry about him.

Compared to the Twilight Forest residents' overconfidence, the Blue Star residents were much more nervous as they watched the battle unfold.

At this moment, Lin Fan was still locked in an intense struggle with Curtis. Because Curtis's attacks were so relentless, Lin Fan hadn't been able to unleash the full power of the Nine Nether buff.

The strength of the Nine Nether buff originally belonged to the Nine-Serpent King, not Lin Fan.

Every time he wanted to use it, he needed time to gather and channel its power.

When he had fought the Serpent Lady and the Hydra, they had given him enough time to charge up.

But Curtis was completely different—he wasn't giving Lin Fan a single moment to catch his breath.

Without that time, Lin Fan couldn't fully unleash the Nine Nether buff.

He kept swinging his Anonymity - Wood - with incredible speed, using it to keep Curtis at bay.

If he had been using an ordinary diamond sword instead, he probably would have already fallen to Curtis by now.

Lin Fan suddenly felt relieved that he had prepared Anonymity - Wood - before Curtis arrived.

Meanwhile, Curtis continued his onslaught. His eyes were bloodshot, and his mouth twisted into a sinister grin.

"Die! Die! I'm going to kill you!" he roared, his attacks growing stronger with every second.

Lin Fan continued to condense the power of the Nine Nether buff.

He could feel that as his Nine Nether energy built up, Curtis was slipping further and further into madness.

As Curtis's mind deteriorated, his strength skyrocketed.

His speed had already doubled compared to before.

But at the same time—so had Lin Fan's.

As the two clashed, a massive crowd of people approached from the distance.

This battle determined Lin Fan's fate.

All of Blue Star would never just stand by and do nothing.

Lin Fan was one of their own, and in a way, he was their pride.

Hu Tiancheng had posted the coordinates in the world channel earlier, and now a large group of people had gathered together, rushing to support Lin Fan—no matter how insignificant their strength might be.

Before they even reached the small wooden house, they could already see Lin Fan and Curtis locked in battle.

At that moment, Curtis was still in his half-beast form, whipping his tail furiously as he attacked Lin Fan.

His relentless barrage was so fast that the spectators couldn't even see him move.

The crowd stood frozen in shock.

They had witnessed the Serpent Lady and the Hydra's speed in the Nine-Story Monster Tower before.

But at the very least, those creatures were still visible to the naked eye.

Right now, Curtis's speed was completely beyond their perception.

"Holy shit?! This is the Naga clan leader? He's moving like a damn ghost—I can't see a thing!"

"I came here to help Lin Fan, but how the hell am I supposed to fight when I can't even see the enemy?"

"Who the hell can keep up with this kind of speed?"

The crowd gasped at Curtis's speed.

But what shocked them even more has yet to come.

At this moment, Lin Fan wielded a wooden blade, swiftly parrying Curtis's attacks. A purple aura surrounded him, and his speed increased exponentially—so fast that no one could even catch a glimpse of his movements.

"Holy crap?! Compared to when he was in the Nine-Story Monster Tower, Lin Fan has gotten way stronger!"

"Lin Fan can actually keep up with the Naga clan leader's speed? This is insane!"

"And we thought we were coming to help… Turns out we're just here to watch."

"This is a battle of gods—mere mortals can only stand aside and witness."

As Lin Fan moved faster and faster, Curtis's attacks also became fiercer and deadlier. The spectators gasped in amazement, while the Twilight Forest residents—who had been mocking him earlier—were now completely silent.

"This guy, Lin Fan… he's actually this strong?"

"He's just a human from Continent One, yet he has a full Fiery Armor set. That alone should have told us how powerful he is."

"Good thing we didn't attack him earlier…"

The Twilight Forest residents stood frozen, murmuring amongst themselves. If they had actually tried to take on Lin Fan before, they would already be dead by now.

In reality, Twilight Forest residents were not inherently stronger than those from the main world. Their base stats were the same—the only real difference was their equipment.

Since Twilight Forest had richer mineral resources, their gear was generally superior to that of the main world.

However, no matter how good their equipment was, it was clear they were no match for Lin Fan.

In terms of speed, in terms of combat skill, they weren't even in the same ballpark.

Hearing their doubts, the Blue Star residents couldn't help but sneer.

"Lin Fan is a legend in our world. And you think you could kill him?"

"You really thought we were lying? Lin Fan does have the power to one-shot the Hydra!"

They scoffed at the Twilight Forest residents' arrogance.

From the Blue Star residents' perspective, Twilight Forest folks were just people who happened to have better gear. Where did they even get this superiority complex?

But despite what they were seeing, the Twilight Forest residents still refused to believe them.

Sure, Lin Fan was powerful, but at the end of the day, he was still just a human from Continent One.

"One-shot the Hydra? You guys are delusional."

"A so-called 'legend of Continent One'? More like a joke."

"Curtis is just playing around with him. Do you really think Lin Fan has a chance?"

"Once Curtis gets serious, he'll finish Lin Fan off instantly. You people actually think Lin Fan can win?"

The Twilight Forest residents laughed mockingly.

In truth, they didn't particularly care for the Naga Clan either.

But since this had turned into a battle between two continents, they had no choice but to support Curtis.

This was a battle for honor.

And for the Blue Star residents, it was the same.

Even those who didn't like Lin Fan personally were now rooting for him.

They needed him to win. They wanted him to shut these Twilight Forest people up.

Otherwise, Twilight Forest would really start thinking Continent One was easy to bully.

Hu Tiancheng stood at the sidelines, watching the intense battle unfold.

Deep down, he wanted to jump in and help Lin Fan.

But compared to Curtis and Lin Fan, his strength was insignificant.

Right now, he could barely even keep up with their movements—how could he possibly help?

Hu Tiancheng clenched his fists, frustration in his eyes.

He had always thought he was strong.

But now, seeing the gap between him and Lin Fan—

He realized just how far he still had to go.
