"How do I look, Charlotte?" James asked as he was finally on set, looking good, handsome, and dangerous… at least he thought, but Charlotte's eyes said something entirely else.
She took her time looking through James like she was judging him. "Like a businessman." She said, but James wasn't sure as she looked like she was hating it and indeed she did because of one thing.
"It's going to be better." James said as he grabbed the butterfly ring and put it on. "Now how do I look?"
It was an instant change as her smile grew big. "Much better!" She shouted in joy and jumped into James, but it wasn't the right idea as his legs gave out and he fell back to the bed.
But rather than hearing Charlotte laugh, he heard nothing. Not a single word, not a single laugh, just silence as her hand gripped his suit tighter and tighter as she pushed her hand into his chest.
"Thirty." She said as her voice trembled but didn't look up, just gripped him tighter. "I—I heard it."
