Chapter 147 - The Illusion Dungeon

On Skylar's way to the round pool, he became fascinated by the arrangement and design of the whole room. He saw a resplendent glowing white tree not far from him, and with interest showing in his green eyes behind the mask, he naturally gravitates towards it. When he reached it, he paused to examine its natural flow lines engraved on its white bark.

Something is out of place with this tree, its like its lines are kind of unnatural...

Skylar put his hand under his chin, about to engage his subconscious, however before he could, he noticed Starboy in his peripheral vision coming to a stop beside him, so he stopped, and then, he turned his focus to him.

"Abbas, do you sense anything weird with the trees?"

Before Starboy replied, he moved closer to the tree in front of them and touched it, tracing his palms along its lines, feeling the flow lines.

"Big bro, it really does feel differently. Maybe it's its specie traits. The difference is very subtle and unnoticeable."

"I think so too." Skylar responded, nodding his head with his thumb and index finger holding his chin.

Right afterwards, quitting examining the tree and its peculiarities, he turned around and he starts walking towards the wall that displayed the outline of a door.

A moment later, he reached the chameleon glass wall and with thoughts on his mind, he placed his right palm on a spot on the door outline on it, and after the spot glow green, he removed his palm, and afterwards, the door outline slid open from the middle. However in the next moment, stunned, he froze because of what appeared in front him or what lay actually behind the door that he wouldn't have expected.

"Big bro, what's wrong?"

Starboy having seen his actions projected his voice from afar, and because he received no response, he closed the distance between them with superhuman speed, and when he paused in his track, he waa also frozen by what he saw outside the room.

"No way." With his round protruding eyes widening in surprise, Starboy said out loud in disbelief.

"Big bro.." With an expression of confusion that seeks clarity, he glanced at Skylar who appeared not really frozen but thoughtful.

"Really, a troublesome panty thief." Skylar muttered. Time passing, the two stood watching and analyzing the strange view.

"We are in for a wild ride..."

Skylar chuckled. The next moment, he stepped out of the room and onto the indoor balcony about twenty five meter wide that shouldn't be there, and after a brief pause, he made his way to its stone parapet in front with Starboy following behind him.

Having already observed the super quiet and deserted balcony to be a ring balcony that overhangs from the base of the highest floor of a round bottomless building that they are in, and which is also like the rest of the others that correspond to the seemingly infinite floors below; Skylar focused his gaze on the dark foggy bottom of the building that is belted by the balconies of the floors that the average eyes could barely reach.

"This should be an illusionist dungeon."

Concluding his assessment, Skylar raised his head and smirked.

"Big bro what's that?" Starboy standing right behind him diagonally questioned, sounding confused. However, before Skylar responded, he momentarily glanced at him from his peripheral, and smiled as he caught his look that expresses genuine curiosity. However instead of responding right away, he paused and smiled brighter as he fell into contemplation.

I really missed that bitch, maybe I should visit her when I am strong enough and able to navigate those regions without help...

Still not responding, Skylar thinking to himself conjured a scene of him receiving lecture from the green serpent in the place he called the holy chamber of the wolf lair—the chamber with animated floors and the its rhe place where he met the green serpent after his first arena battle.

The green serpent: "You should be as worried of mentalist as spiritualist—they might even be more troublesome than spiritualist at times. Till this era, the sages and scholar have not been able to tell what is superior between the mind and the spirit, at this rate, until the day we have a clear answer, a being that can attack the mind and a being that can equally attack the spirit, might as well be equals..."

Skylar: "So you are saying, the mind and the spirit are equally as fragile."

Green serpent: "Yes, they are a whole lot fragile than the physical vessel. Injuries to any of them takes considerable energy and time to heal. So be careful when you are out there, and especially at this rate, you shouldn't worry much about your spirit.. its the mental aspect of existence we should focus on..."

Skylar: "Why? My spirit is op?"

Green serpent: "Ssss... Yes and know."

Skylar: "What's it? Tell me?"

Green serpent: "At this rate, You shouldn't know now. Knowing now will only cause more complication. So let's focus on the topic for today."

Skylar: "Okay. Go ahead."

Green serpent: "Don't forget what I have been teaching you are not absolute—they are all subjected to changes. At this rate they might have been revised and improved somewhere, and some would have even be discarded and forgotten. So don't listen to absorb them..."

Skylar: "I know. I am aware no knowledge except one is absolute."

Green serpent: "What knowledge is that?"

Skylar: "At this rate, You shouldn't know now. Knowing now will only cause more complication. So let's focus on the topic for today."

"Ssss... You just repeated what I said."

Skylar smiled as he concluded his flashback.

He turned around and after he did, he saw that the room they came out from has been replaced by a dark empty space like it vanished, and midair on its entryway is a series of glowing holographic words—words written with visible astral energy—in bold letters that he can understand.

HEY! YOU ARE ON THE LAST FLOOR THE EXIT IS ON THE GROUND FLOOR

REMEMBER:

THE COLOR OF THE DOORS CHANGES RANDOMLY

A GREEN DOOR LEADS TO AN ABSOLUTELY SAFE CHAMBER

A RED DOOR LEADS TO A CHAMBER THAT MIGHT BE DANGEROUS

A BLACK DOOR LEADS TO A CHAMBER THAT IS DEFINITELY DANGEROUS AND MIGHT BE MORE DANGEROUS THAN EXPECTED

THE EXIT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF A GREEN CHAMBER AS YOU ENTER IT LEADS TO THE BALCONY OF A FLOOR BELOW ITS FLOOR.

THE EXIT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF A RED CHAMBER AS YOU ENTER IT LEADS TO THE BALCONY OF A FLOOR FIVE FLOOR BELOW ITS FLOOR.

THE EXIT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF A BLACK CHAMBER AS YOU ENTER IT LEADS TO THE BALCONY OF A FLOOR TEN FLOORS BELOW ITS FLOOR.

IF YOU FALL OFF THE EDGE OF THE BALCONY GREAT HORRORS AWAIT YOU BELOW AND IF YOU DO NOT SURVIVE YOU WILL RETURN TO THE LAST FLOOR

TO OPEN A DOOR PLACE YOUR PALMS ON IT AND NOTE WHEN THE DOOR OPENS OTHER DOORS BECOME INACCESSIBLE

IF YOU SPEND MORE THAN TEN MINUTES ON A BALCONY ALL THE DOORS WILL OPEN AND THEIR DANGERS WILL EMERGE

IF YOU SPEND MORE THAN TEN MINUTES IN A CHAMBER IT EXIT WILL LEADS TO THE PREVIOUS BALCONY YOU CAME FROM

COUNTDOWN TIME 7 : 09

"Big bro, the time." Starboy having come to stand beside Skylar and after also reading the words blurted out.

"I can see it. We have 7 minutes left on this balcony." Skylar smiled. He starts looking around the eerily quiet balcony made of snow white substance like ceramic just like the entire strange building.

"We are trapped here already; we can't return to the room we came from and we can't jump down the balcony. Its like that stupid and foolish low-level panty thief is forcing us to play his boring game." Smiling, Skylar turned to Starboy beside him.

"Abass, what do you think?"

"Big bro..." Somewhat overwhelmed, Starboy paused, looking awkward. Thinking of a reply, he removed his cap and starts scratching his head.

"Don't think too much, let's see what we are up against before we decide." Saying this and leading Starboy, Skylar starts walking along the balcony that bends in a ring, checking out glowing glass doors of red, green, or black colors on the hundred meter tall building wall to their right that the balcony adjoins.

A moment later, the two returned back to where they come from after circling the balcony, and they paused right in front of the glowing and floating words on the entryway of the room they came out from that has vanished and is replaced by empty darkness.

COUNTDOWN TIME 2 : 01

"Big bro, the time... We only have two minutes." Starboy sounded urgent as he glanced beside him at Skylar who stood paused and thoughtful with his hand on his chin in front of the words.

Though Skylar heard him, it was until about half a minute later that he spoke up, muttering to himself.

"There are twelve doors and the lowest rate of change of their color is three seconds. The last question is how many doors will have a particular color per moment."

COUNTDOWN 1 : 30

Making his decision Skylar moving at inhuman speed, appeared right in front of a door to thier left that just changed its glow from green to red, and similarly Starboy followed.

"Big bro are we testing the waters first?"

"Sort of." Skylar responded as he removed his two palms from the door that starts parting from the middle—opening. And what appeared behind the door after it opened completely was a large empty chamber like the interior of a rotunda cathedral that has a wall of stained glasses—its diameter about five hundred meters.

The two side by side entered it with the countdown time floating in front of them resetting and following them. And at the same time the doorway behind them distorted and vanished like it was never there, making it look like the cathedral has only one exit which is at the opposite side—the exit they will aim for in order to leave the chamber and reached the balcony five floors below the one they came in from. However as they were about to sprint towards it, they both sensed multitude of disgusting presence and a sticky spiritual pressure from above them. And when they looked up, they saw a swarm of giant feral bats coming at them with bloodlust, flying from behind the dome ceiling of the chamber like they are passing through a force field barrier, with some flying towards the exitway, trying to block it.

"Motherfucker, panty thief." Skylar cursed with gritted teeth, expressing his clear irritatation and disgust for the ugly sight of the swarm of bats.

"Abass, take them all out."

"Okay, big bro." Starboy responded with no delay; under one second; first he balled his palm as he gathered and concentrate his unique golden astral energy there, and next as he opened it, countless glowing astral particles like star dust which is strangely similar to what the physical body of a person turn into when they starfall inside the simulation, starts streaming out from his palm coated with his unique astral energy very rapidly. And as they contact the bats that are almost upon them, wherever the contact was made will explode soundlessly with bright light like fireworks, and it will afterwards appear that all matter in the radius of explosion has vaporized completely. In summary, it did not take long for Starboy to ball up the swarm of feral giant bats that are coming for their blood with his flowing stream of astral particles and engulfed them completely, setting off a brilliant fireworks that looks so beautiful and deadly.

After a moment; during which the explosion Skylar was clearly impressed with subsided, nothing of the remains of the hordes of giant bats survived, not even a tiny piece of enamel.

"You are not bad." Nodding in approval, Skylar patted Starboy on the shoulder, praising him.

However before they could proceed, they sensed another wave of hordes of bats—that are bigger, more numerous, noiser, and clearly stronger than the previous one—coming at them like the first one, which is from the ceiling above them like they were released as if a dam.

"Panty thief, pray my mood is good when I catch you!" Greatly displeased, Skylar raised his voice.
