Chapter 6 - What the heck

Riley

"Mom, I'm going home."

"Are you okay? You're sweating." She got worried seeing the beads of sweat on my forehead.

"I'll be fine, I just need to rest."

"Let me come with you."

"No." I refused.

"Okay, fine." She sighed. "Just call me when you get home. Alright?"

"Yeah."

"Let me take her home."

I glared at Xavier who didn't seem fazed at all by my glare.

"Will you do that?" Of course, Mommie loved the idea.

"I'd be happy to. I mean, she doesn't seem to be doing too well."

"Just mind your own damn business." I snapped at him.

"Riley! Don't be rude. Son, don't mind her. Take her home for me. I'll be so relieved if you do."

"Mark will drive me home just fine." I said.

"Don't be stubborn, Riley. Please take her home, Xavier."

He nodded in agreement. I scoffed and hurried out of the hotel building, with Xavier hot on my trail.

I really thought I wouldn't have to see his face anymore, but look at me now. Sitting with him, in the backseat of his car, as George drives us to my penthouse.

I felt sorry for George. To have to be in the same car as us with the uncomfortable tension that was in the air.

But let me worry about myself. The period cramps were killing me! I don't know what I was thinking, coming straight here after landing at the airport. Now look at how much pain I'm in all because I thought coming to Xavier's launch party would be a good idea.

"Drive faster, George!"

Silence enveloped the car.

I exhaled. "I didn't mean to be rude, but I really need to get home like right now."

Fortunately, George just nodded his head and stepped on the gas, speeding to our destination.

It hurt so bad!

When I opened my eyes though, I was already in bed. In my bedroom.

What the heck?
