Jin finally took Ryu's advice.
By the time he came down from the watchtower, the sun had almost set, and the smell of dinner was drifting out of the station's kitchen. He found the washroom on the first floor, an old locker room with a few showers that still worked if you were patient with them, and stood under the water until it ran clear instead of grey. Dust, soot, dried blood that wasn't all his own. It took a long time. When he finally stepped out, scrubbed raw and wrapped in clean clothes someone had left out for him, he felt almost human again.
