(HELENA)
The cabin was barely big enough for two. But with five people sharing the space, it's downright uncomfortable. Almost as uncomfortable as the probing look Daniel aimed my way when Blackwood led the way inside.
I kept my gaze trained on the dusty floor, let Leon shove me to one side of the room, and sat down beside Blackwood when he barked at me to do it while he, Jerome, and Daniel took a few steps away and proceeded to argue with each other.
As I sit next to Blackwood while Daniel does his best at convincing Leon and Jerome that I don't have the money they think I do, it's hard not to feel Blackwood's gaze heating the side of my face.
He must have a million and one questions to go along with the million and one reasons he wishes he'd never laid eyes on me.
