Volume 2 Chapter 85: Kaiser Ghidorah vs. Godzilla (Part 3)
Terrifying lightning erupted from Kaiser Ghidorah's body.
Countless bolts of electricity struck Godzilla, releasing energy powerful enough to evaporate an entire lake. This wasn't just a matter of one or two petawatts—greater, stronger lightning continuously lashed against Godzilla's body, leaving scorched and molten marks wherever they landed.
Scorching hot burn spots spread across Godzilla's body, destabilizing him. His hands were barely holding onto Ghidorah's heads as the relentless assault continued.
Kaiser Ghidorah, surging with electricity, charged forward through the torrential rain, pushing Godzilla ahead while striking him with an unceasing storm of lightning. At the same time, Godzilla's back was being battered by towering mountains and massive boulders.
Moving at supersonic speed, Kaiser Ghidorah drove both of them forward. One mountain after another was shattered as they plowed through. Thunder and storm winds followed in Ghidorah's wake, his three heads pressing against Godzilla, forcing him ever forward.
Even though Godzilla's legs were buried hundreds of meters deep into the earth from the impact, the ground itself continued to split and crack beneath his immense power, carving two deep trenches dozens of meters into the earth.
Mountains were leveled, rivers were severed, and the two behemoths continued their collision for 30 to 40 kilometers before Godzilla finally crashed into a colossal mountain over 2,000 meters tall, barely managing to halt Ghidorah's advance.
The impact had ended, but the electrical onslaught continued.
An unrelenting thunderstorm scorched Godzilla's body, his outer flesh melting away under the extreme heat. Meanwhile, Kaiser Ghidorah remained largely unaffected due to the high conductivity of its own body.
Its three heads lunged at Godzilla, two being intercepted, but one managed to bite down successfully.
Through this bite, Kaiser Ghidorah channeled an unimaginably powerful electric current directly into Godzilla's body, attempting to incinerate him from the inside out.
Beneath the shattered mountain, the two titanic monsters battled fiercely.
The shoulder where Godzilla had been bitten was turning red-hot, his flesh melting away.
But he wasn't defenseless. Deep within, Godzilla was gathering energy for a devastating attack. He planned to unleash his atomic breath at point-blank range to obliterate the neck of the head that had bitten him.
Clenching his jaws tightly around Ghidorah's head, Godzilla charged his breath—
Boom!!!
Godzilla's atomic breath fired, instantly melting through the majority of Kaiser Ghidorah's neck.
The petawatt-level blast incinerated Ghidorah's flesh in a flash and detonated beneath them.
In an instant, Kaiser Ghidorah, Godzilla, and the mountain behind them were engulfed in a massive fireball.
The unimaginable heat scorched both combatants, but Kaiser Ghidorah activated its power again. Its wings flared with force, accelerating its assault and causing the mountain behind Godzilla to collapse entirely.
Boom!!!!
The entire mountain crumbled. The impact of this collision generated a force exceeding hundreds of billions of tons.
Earth and stone crumbled, massive boulders shattered, and the forests and streams atop the mountain exploded into chaos.
Godzilla's body was embedded hundreds of meters deep into the mountain, left sprawled within the rubble.
The searing fireball continued to burn as Kaiser Ghidorah, still within the flames, unleashed three energy beams straight at the spot where Godzilla had fallen.
The beams pierced through hundreds of meters of earth and detonated deep within, blasting apart Godzilla's right shoulder.
Kaiser Ghidorah adjusted its position, soaring out of the fireball, leaving Godzilla lying within the inferno.
Hualalala…
Amid the heavy rain, Kaiser Ghidorah, now missing one of its necks, lowered its remaining two heads to gaze at the spreading fireball below.
Just moments ago, after melting through a portion of its neck, Godzilla had exerted all his strength and ripped off the partially severed head of Kaiser Ghidorah!
But the cost was severe—after the head was torn away, Godzilla suffered a devastating triple attack from Ghidorah. The truth was, Kaiser Ghidorah's heads were merely conductors of its power. Losing one didn't stop its attacks—its energy blasts could still fire unabated.
So despite its grievous appearance, Kaiser Ghidorah hadn't sustained any significant damage.
But Godzilla…
As the fireball rose into the rain-filled sky, Godzilla emerged from the mushroom cloud.
He lifted his gaze toward Kaiser Ghidorah, who hovered above, wreathed in storm clouds. His right shoulder glowed red-hot, three deep, gaping holes burned through it, from which molten metallic liquid poured incessantly.
One of his arms was completely useless.
Godzilla understood his own injuries. In that brief clash, Kaiser Ghidorah had completely destroyed his right shoulder.
From now on, he could no longer use his right arm to grab Ghidorah's heads. His strength was no longer enough to restrain the golden dragon.
He was at a disadvantage in close combat.
Godzilla was acutely aware of this fact. Structurally, he had certain advantages, but Kaiser Ghidorah's strength exceeded his by more than twice over.
In a hand-to-hand fight, if Kaiser Ghidorah used its wings to generate force, there was no way he could win.
From this moment forward, he had to rely on his atomic breath to decide the outcome.
Kaiser Ghidorah and Godzilla locked eyes. The golden hydra hovered in the air, its form flanked by seven Ghidorah's Wings, looming over the battlefield like a god in the night sky.
Meanwhile, Godzilla continued gathering energy, fueling multiple fusion reactors within his body to prepare for a decisive blast.
The two monsters stood in a tense standoff.
Then—Kaiser Ghidorah suddenly shot upward, toward the clouds!
At the same time, the seven Ghidorah's Wings dove toward Godzilla, as if to tear him apart.
But Godzilla had already prepared his attack.
Across a distance of over ten kilometers, he switched reactors and unleashed a searing atomic breath through the rainy night.
The beam ripped through the darkness, exploding midair and engulfing the descending Ghidorah's Wings in flames!
Boom!
BOOM!
One of the Ghidorah's Wings was struck directly, exploding into a spray of molten debris. Godzilla, shaking his head to recalibrate his aim, locked onto the others and swept his breath across the sky.
One by one, the Ghidorah's Wings were shot down. Though his atomic breath wasn't enough to kill them outright, it disabled them temporarily, removing them from the battlefield.
By the time the last three remaining Ghidorah's Wings reached Godzilla, only three were still airborne.
These three Ghidorah's Wings lunged at Godzilla's ruined right shoulder.
His shoulder, already melted and burned, was as soft as butter beneath their claws.
And Godzilla couldn't retaliate with his breath.
If he fired his atomic breath at close range, he wouldn't just destroy the Ghidorah's Wings—he'd blow off his own arm entirely.
The three monstrous wings dug their talons into his shoulder, flapping furiously as they attempted to lift Godzilla into the sky, dragging him toward the storm clouds.
At the same time—
From within the thunderclouds, Kaiser Ghidorah emerged.
Lightning surged through the storm, countless arcs of blue-white electricity crackling through the clouds.
Was it trying to use the storm to finish me off?
Kaiser Ghidorah's four wings spread wide, pointing directly downward at Godzilla.
Then, as if commanded by a general, an ocean of lightning poured down toward Godzilla, who was still being hoisted into the sky by the Ghidorah's Wings.
Countless bolts of thunder and lightning engulfed Godzilla's body.
And then, the three Ghidorah's Wings let go.
Godzilla plummeted.
