Artemis's smirk vanished. Her back straightened, jaw clenched, and for once her sharp gaze faltered.
Selene lifted a brow, calm but unreadable. What is she on about?
Elenya looked at Selene from the side with uncertainty, her lips pressed tight. Everyone knew how close the sisters had always been. The celestials had even given them a name — the Dark and the Light Twins. Two halves of one whole. Could Velmira be right?
Velmira's voice rose, brittle with desperation. "I demand the High Divinities remain present to witness the Huntress's judgment. If nothing else, grant me this one request." Her voice cracked, pride splintering. She lifted her eyes toward the Sovereigns like a desperate plea, as though their presence could restore the dignity she'd already lost.
The murmur that rolled through the arena was different this time. Not shock. Not awe. Suspicion. Heads turned toward Selene, eyes narrowing, whispers threading low and urgent.
"Is it possible?"
"That could be it."
