"...I don't know, like… like something's changed." Thaleon said carefully.
Selene leaned back slightly, her spine still straight, but the tension in her shoulders eased just a little. She studied him, eyes steady and unreadable. Of course something had changed.
She had died to her family.
She had said goodbye to a life she had built with love. A family she loves so much. And now she was here again, draped in divinity, expected to be whole.
But instead of saying all that, Selene simply murmured, "Many things have changed, Thaleon."
He blinked, unsure of what to make of the calm weight in her voice. His fingers curled around the small cup beside him, and he took a slow sip — more to collect himself than out of thirst.
Selene's gaze followed the movement. Then, voice cool but not unkind, she asked, "What do you want, Thaleon?"
Thaleon chuckled softly under his breath, lowering the cup. "I... suppose I should've known you'd get straight to it."
She didn't respond. Just waited.
