HQ base 322 had not experienced any new changes since Colonel Darkhaven took over.
Kailen however had been planning a lot in the shadows. He made use of his shadow creatures to use poisons and runes to set strategic traps for the enemy. He did this covertly without the knowledge of anyone in the base. This was because he didn't want to take the risk of letting the spies of the vimodial contractors know about it.
If the spies of the vimodial contractors got to know about it, the enemy would be able to take countermeasures against his traps.
The perimeter of the base had been reinforced with an invisible protective rune for the enemy attack he was expecting. Kailen may not have cared about any other person in the base apart from himself and his friends, but he was now the operative in charge of the base, and a disadvantage of this was that he had to be responsible for every life at the base whether he wanted to do it or not.
