Salistra's eyes swept slowly across the room before landing on Hades and Lilith. "What do I owe the pleasure of your visit?" Her sharp words sliced through the silence.
"You knew about it, didn't you?" Hades spoke through gritted teeth.
The witch held his gaze. "I have not the slightest idea what you are speaking of, your...,"
"Do not fucking do that. You know exactly what I'm asking about." His nose flared, anger radiating off him. "Don't irritate me any more than you already are."
A small, knowing smile curved her lips. "I warned her before the ritual even began. Seeking the favor of Urda is no simple task. It comes with grave consequences one cannot escape." She adjusted the fall of her dress. "If you're here for my assistance, I'm deeply sorry. There is nothing I or anyone else can do."
"That's fucking nonsense!" the prince barked. "You are a high witch. You must be able to fix this. Lilith cannot die, not for me, not for anyone. She must live, and you will ensure it."
