Lilith was already awake before the first light of dawn. She lay on the bed, arms wrapped around Hades as she watched him sleep. Occasionally, she would run her fingers across his jaw, nose, and lips, and no matter how gently she touched him, he still stirred awake, only to ask if everything was alright before resuming his sleep.
The fear of what would happen after the ritual lingered in her mind, and Salistra's words didn't make her feel any better. Lilith wondered what it was that could possibly go wrong. So many possibilities had run through her mind, each one only slightly worse than the other.
Regardless of what was going to happen, she wouldn't go back on her word to perform the ritual. If it meant Hades was going to be saved, then she would do anything.
