On the very first day of term, Slytherin erupted into chaos!
"Yu is right! Reclaim our seats! Reclaim our food!"
Daphne completely abandoned her usual refined manners, rolling up her sleeves and refusing to walk around the table—instead, she swung her legs up and climbed straight across it!
Her boots drummed against the wooden surface as she strode forward in quick, determined steps, marching directly to Crabbe. Without hesitation, she seized the large bowl of pumpkin porridge in front of him and upended it over his head!
"Ahhh—!"
Crabbe immediately let out an ear-splitting shriek as the scalding orange liquid cascaded down from his skull!
"You're bloody mad—! Greengrass—!"
He frantically wiped his face and grabbed his wand, firing Locomotor Mortis at Daphne, sending her tumbling headfirst off the table in a spectacular fall.
"How dare you—attack my sister—!"
Astoria screamed, her usual gentle, soft-spoken demeanor vanishing as her eyes blazed with battle fury!
She leaped onto her chair, pointed her wand at Crabbe, and cast Furnunculus—fresh boils erupted across his already scalded, crimson face.
"Ahh—my face! You filthy rats—the Dark Lord won't spare you Greengrasses—!"
Crabbe's shrieks and curses rang out like a battle horn, and half the Slytherin table exploded into action!
They remembered Jane Yu's teachings, and someone roared:
"Follow Yu's guidance—smash the plates on their heads!"
The young snakes charged from the middle and ends of the table. Fists and spells flew together, curses and screams harmonized, and the entire Great Hall echoed with the tremendous chaos of Slytherin's civil war.
The other three house tables fell completely silent. Every eye turned toward them, students gaping at the conflict erupting at the Slytherin table, craning their necks to get closer to the spectacle.
One crisis after another—Professor McGonagall, who hadn't even finished dealing with Gryffindor'sBat-Bogey Hex drama, now faced a Slytherin brawl.
"Stop! Stop!" She nearly fainted with rage. "Miss Greengrass! Mr. Goyle! Mr. Crabbe! What do you think you're doing! Points deducted—points deducted—all of you in detention—"
But Professor McGonagall's voice was completely drowned in Slytherin's melee.
For the young snakes, school rules had been cast completely aside!
Blaise grabbed a plate and smashed it down on Goyle's forehead—porcelain shattered everywhere, cutting his face and body, twisting his features with pain.
But this was only the beginning. With Blaise's successful example, more young snakes began hurling plates at their targets, trying to crack their skulls open.
Perhaps initially they only wanted to show Jane Yu their stance and position through rebellion...
They just wanted to reclaim their original seats, reclaim their food, defend their friends...
But as the fight continued, their anger transformed!
The half-blood snakes thought of their Muggle parents—Crabbe and Goyle's faces became those of aspiring Death Eaters threatening to purge and murder their families!
Many pure-blood snakes remembered their summer of fear and anxiety—the resentment and hatred from Death Eaters showing up at their doors with honeyed threats suddenly surged to the surface!
This made their attacks more vicious, spells escalating from ordinary hexes toward darker curses.
"Titillando!" "Densaugeo!" "Anteoculatia!"
Students' front teeth grew down to their chests, ram's horns sprouted from their heads, or they rolled on the ground as their skin broke out in sores...
Professor McGonagall felt like every time she separated one pair with magic, another pair tangled together elsewhere!
The Slytherin students seemed to have inexhaustible energy—no sooner were they pulled apart than they howled and charged back in like tireless fighting machines, shouting:
"For freedom! Against oppression!"
Mafalda looked as if she'd found her life's purpose—fighting through tears, she lunged from behind and put both Crabbe and Goyle in chokeholds, forcing them to tumble from their seats onto the floor, faces red as they struggled against spells and flying plates.
"What's wrong with being Muggle-born? What's wrong with being a Squib?" she demanded loudly, landing two solid punches to their faces. "I can still pin you to the ground and beat you!"
Her actions immediately reminded the young snakes of their battle's purpose!
Like Mafalda, they were reclaiming their seats to show Yu their allegiance!
To demonstrate they were useful—brave souls who knew how to resist injustice!
"Those seats don't belong to you! The food doesn't belong to you! You have no right to force us to serve you!"
The swarming young snakes tore at Crabbe and Goyle's supporters' robes, stunning them one by one, then dragged the dazed Draco from his seat and shoved him into a corner.
"Get down from there!"
Daphne, nearly knocked unconscious by the Leg-Locker Curse, crawled on the ground and aimed at Millicent and Pansy's ankles. Despite the blood seeping from her fingertips where they'd trampled her hands, she snarled viciously:
"Relashio!"
Both girls shrieked as their legs gave out, tumbling from their seats to grapple with Daphne on the floor.
"Stop this!" Seeing the situation deteriorating, several other staff members rushed down from the high table. "Finite Incantatem! Finite Incantatem!"
But they had to start maintaining order at the other tables too, as students began creating uproar.
Some students started clapping and cheering, banging plates on tables like war drums; others tried to sneak in a few spells during the chaos; still others began offering tactical advice and fanning the flames with sideline coaching.
"Mafalda, Stinging Hex!" Justin Finch-Fletchley from Hufflepuff, also Muggle-born, suddenly stood up. "Well done!"
"Oppugno!" Anthony Goldstein from Ravenclaw had completely forgotten his prefect status. "The spell is Oppugno!"
"Silence, Mr. Finch-Fletchley!" Professor McGonagall was practically breathing fire. "And you, Mr. Goldstein—you're a prefect!"
But before Professor McGonagall could finish, Ginny's loud voice rang out from the Gryffindor table:
"Bat-Bogey Hex! Greengrass! Bat-Bogey Hexes!"
"What are you saying, Miss Weasley?" Professor McGonagall wished she had three heads and six arms. "Points deducted! Detention! That's the second time—I need to discuss this with your mother!"
The remarkably receptive Astoria rarely found common ground with Ginny, but she immediately drew her wand, aimed at Millicent's nose, and sent a white flash:
A stream of large bats whooshed out of her nostrils!
This forced Millicent to release Daphne and try to manage the constant flow of snot and bats.
This allowed Daphne to successfully stand up, stunning Pansy unconscious with one spell and giving Millicent another for good measure.
Supported by sheer willpower and adrenaline, she stood panting and proud, declaring loudly:
"Greengrass... refuses... to associate with tyrants like you! For Yu! For the new world!"
After delivering this fierce proclamation, she looked down and saw Draco's bewildered face in the corner—
This triggered her reflexes as she raised her aching hand and waved her wand:
"Expelliarmus!"
Draco's wand spun up to the chandelier, and he stared blankly at the ceiling fixture, mumbling something about "darkness before dawn."
"Don't attack the fool!" Blaise quickly restrained the blood-crazed Daphne from her indiscriminate assault. "He's already lost it—we're friends, let him be!"
He cast Incarcerous on Draco, binding him thoroughly before stuffing him under the neighboring table.
But as he searched for Theodore, planning to repeat the maneuver—
He discovered Theodore was gone!
Where was he?
Before he could voice this confusion, the Great Hall doors were flung open once more!
Their Head of House, Snape, and Headmaster Dumbledore stood there, glaring at them with grim expressions, their faces like sheets of ice!
Behind them followed the professors who had been absent from the feast!
