Chapter 400 - Chapter 2: Rin VS Obito 2

The battle in the alley raged on with deadly intensity.

Strangely, Obito—the invader—had been fighting with obvious restraint the entire time.

In stark contrast, Mei and her companions showed absolutely no mercy, completely disregarding any collateral damage to the Hidden Mist Village.

On the alley wall, Nohara Rin's long sleeves whipped through the air as she drove Obito into continuous retreat.

Their fists and feet clashed in a deadly dance, both simultaneously activating Kamui to phase through each other without contact.

Seeing this familiar pattern, Rin's lips curved slightly beneath her fox mask, her eyes blazing with sudden inspiration as she spun into a vicious counterattack.

Her delicate fist shot from within those billowing sleeves, aimed straight at Obito's chest.

Just as Obito tried his usual trick—preparing to phase the targeted body part into his Kamui dimension—

A devastating force slammed into his chest, launching him like a cannonball.

CRASH!

Obito rocketed backward, smashing clean through a distant building in an explosion of debris and dust.

On the wall, Rin showed no satisfaction at her successful hit, standing motionless as she tracked Obito's position with predatory focus.

Moments ago, she had synchronized her own fist's entry into the Kamui dimension, striking Obito directly within his supposed sanctuary.

As dust settled, Obito burst from the wreckage like an avenging demon, his visible eye wide with shock and fury as he stared at Nohara Rin.

"Who the hell are you?!"

His roar echoed off the alley walls.

Rin remained perfectly still atop the wall, meeting his gaze without flinching.

She hadn't figured out how to face this twisted version of Obito, nor how to explain the origin of her eyes.

Trapped in her emotional turmoil, the only thing she could do was stop Obito's path of destruction!

Clutching his caved-in chest, Obito's mind raced frantically.

This mysterious woman possessed identical Mangekyo Sharingan abilities to his own—but somehow superior.

Most infuriating of all, she could activate her Mangekyo techniques faster than he could.

Even worse, she wielded long-range Kamui—a capability his single eye completely lacked.

Combined with her devastatingly skilled taijutsu, he had zero advantages.

The realization hit him like ice water: I need to get the fuck out of here.

The Three-Tails could wait. Revenge on the Hidden Mist could wait. He absolutely could not fall here.

Without hesitation, Obito began channeling chakra toward his Mangekyo Sharingan.

Time to bail.

Ignoring the kunai streaking toward him, Obito's hands blurred through seals.

"Fire Release: Blast Wave Wild Dance!"

His battle cry rang out.

Twisted space erupted into a spiraling hurricane, rotating winds merging with serpentine flames to form a massive fire tornado.

Facing the sudden inferno, Rin's eyes narrowed behind her mask.

She hadn't expected Obito to unleash such widespread destruction—engulfing not only herself, Shizune, and Mei, but also catching the mind-controlled Yagura in its deadly embrace.

The sharp staccato of high heels announced Mei's approach as she abandoned her fight with the Fourth Mizukage.

"Water Release: Water Formation Wall!"

Torrents of water erupted from her lips, clashing against the blazing tornado in a spectacular collision.

Steam hissed and roared as superheated vapor engulfed everything within a hundred meters.

Mei was already forming seals for her next attack when Rin materialized beside her, placing a restraining hand on her arm.

"Mei, he's gone!"

Frustration flashed across Mei's face as she turned toward the still vacant-eyed Yagura.

"Then we take down the puppet first. This bastard's the Three-Tails jinchuriki—we can't afford to underestimate him!"

Both Shizune and Rin nodded grimly.

As the three women prepared to face the controlled Fourth Mizukage—

In the Hidden Leaf Village at the ninja world's heart, four figures sat in the high-level officials' private conference room.

Sarutobi Hiruzen occupied the head seat, pipe clenched between his teeth as he studied the documents spread before him with an expressionless face.

The sparse room contained only four sofas arranged around a low table—nothing more.

"Stop daydreaming and read the damn report."

Koharu Utatane immediately snatched up the documents, her expression growing increasingly severe.

The file passed to Homura Mitokado next.

When the papers finally reached Danzo, he continued trimming his nails with deliberate indifference, shaking his head dismissively.

"Don't need to read it. The Uchiha are stirring up shit again, right?"

"Bingo." Homura leaned back against his sofa, then elaborated: "Uchiha Fugaku is proving to be a completely incompetent clan head."

"I remember when he wasn't leader yet—he never tolerated Uchiha members bullying villagers."

"But ever since taking over, aside from protecting his inner circle, he ignores everything else. Big problems, small problems—doesn't matter."

Hearing this, Danzo's mouth curved into an appreciative smile.

Brilliant strategy!

The kid's playing the classic 'sacrifice the tail to save the body' gambit!

Truly worthy of being Rinjin's protégé—what a ruthlessly calculating mind!

The Uchiha clan was far from unified. This family—massive enough to be considered a village powerhouse—had split into two distinct factions.

The first was the inflexibly stubborn Elder faction.

These traditionalists believed family honor superseded everything else. The Uchiha name could tolerate no stain whatsoever—they coddled their own while bullying outsiders.

The second was the Police Force faction, cultivated by Kagami and later Fugaku.

This group consisted of young and middle-aged Uchiha members—energetic and hungry for change.

Originally, when Kagami still served Konoha, their greatest aspiration was complete integration with the village like other families.

Of course, the leadership would never permit such a thing.

After Fugaku's takeover, their philosophy evolved.

If we can't integrate into the village, we'll simply act like ordinary civilians.

Though Kagami and Fugaku's approaches appeared similar, they were fundamentally opposite.

Everything Kagami did aimed to win villagers' acceptance—his focus remained on the people.

Everything Fugaku did served the reverse purpose.

He didn't need villagers to accept him; he just needed to behave like one of them.

Think of it this way...

Both were essentially wage slaves.

Kagami worked his ass off trying to impress the boss, hoping for recognition and promotion.

While not impossible, the odds were microscopic.

Fugaku took a different approach. Whatever his coworkers did, he did. If they took paid bathroom breaks, he took paid bathroom breaks.

The boss had to pay his salary regardless. And if they tried to stiff him? Well, they'd have to negotiate with the gas tank at his house first~

Fugaku's hands-off approach to the Elder faction after becoming clan head was pure calculated negligence.

He was letting these idiots cause trouble. When things escalated beyond control, he'd throw some Elder faction members under the bus.

Even if everything spiraled into complete chaos, this guy still had his teacher's protection.

Contemplating this masterful manipulation, Danzo's smile turned predatory. He glanced at Sarutobi Hiruzen, who had been covertly monitoring his reactions, and spoke with casual menace:

"This situation... want me to handle it?"
