Anastasia was surprised when she heard that Lady Amber had come to visit her. Even when she was queen, the two of them had never gotten along. Besides, if the Thorne family merely wished to follow the trend, they could have simply sent a steward to deliver the gift.
"Is your master close to the Thorne family?" Anastasia asked, though she found it difficult to believe.

"Send her to the receiving hall and have the maids attend to her. I will join her shortly," Anastasia instructed. She knew she could not refuse the visit. Even if she did not wish to see Amber, she still had to act as a proper hostess.
