Luther was quite bewildered and astonished with her words.
Her apology was much unexpected but it sounded so rueful and sincere that it made his breath restrict for a few seconds.
He wondered what exactly caused her to apologize but he couldn't guess.
She had been in his kingdom for long but had never said sorry to him. Not that he wanted her to, not that he cared but why did his heart promptly soften? Why did he feel his glare suddenly melt?
His grasp on her hardened. He wasn't going to allow her to make him vulnerable. That she couldn't achieve.
"What?" He scoffed. "Are you trying to sympathize with me? Do you now acknowledge how much of an animal your father was?"
He seemed crossed.
Almira kept mute. She didn't know what else to say.
Since Kira had told me about his sister yesterday, she had felt much guilt and understood his pain and hate.
Yes, her father was indeed an animal and had destroyed lives but Luther wasn't so different.
