The following morning, Gabriel's student card was finally activated.
He began officially attending Jindu Academy.
The facilities on campus were much more complete than those during the regional examination. Training grounds, energy-conduction practice halls, information classrooms, injury-prevention sports fields, terrain simulation rooms… all clearly labeled and easily navigable. With Meyu's help, Gabriel and his Pokémon could efficiently access all kinds of training resources.

However, James and King wouldn't leave him alone.

Then came the class placement ceremony.
In the auditorium, students from all provinces gathered. Every new student was sorted into a class based on their specialty and test results.
After Gabriel's name was announced, he found himself in Class Three of the First Year Battle Department.
The moment he entered the room, all eyes turned to him.
He hadn't expected that the entire class knew who he was.
"Whoa, it's really him?"
"He's the provincial champion, right?"
"Is that the guy with the Dratini?"
"Is he the one who used Dynamax during the regional test?"
"Looks kinda cool in person."
Everyone was whispering. He wasn't used to it.
After the homeroom teacher entered and gave a brief self-introduction, she glanced at her tablet, then suddenly looked up.
"Gabriel," she said, "you've been nominated as class representative."
Gabriel: "???"
He hadn't signed up for anything!?
Before he could object, the teacher smiled and said, "As the top-ranking student in the regional examination, this is both an honor and a responsibility."
Gabriel: "..."
How did this happen?
Just when he was about to raise his hand in protest, James stood up from another seat and clapped exaggeratedly.
"A natural leader! As expected from the regional champion!"
Gabriel turned and glared at him.
This guy again!?
James winked. "Actually, I overheard the staff earlier. They said you're the only provincial champion who chose Jindu."

James leaned in, his voice just loud enough for a few people to hear. "Most of the other champions from the eight provinces picked more prestigious academies, like Gudu, Nanjun, Yao City… Only you came to Jindu."
"…So?"
"So the school's putting a lot of hope on you." James grinned. "It's kind of like you're the school's secret weapon. They want you to set the tone, inspire the rest of us. That's why they made you class rep."
Gabriel: "…"
He didn't ask for this kind of attention!
